Are you sure that you checked the correct e-mail address, and or checked in any spam folders? I have just tried requesting my password and got an e-mail straight away.

Yep, I checked my E-mail address, after a couple of days I requested a second time but still got nothing. It's been a couple of weeks now though I'll try again.

I'm assuming this just got lost in the shuffle of posts in this thread as no one from EA has replied to it yet so I'll just quote it and ask again:
Quote:
If there is a reasonable, understandable logistical reason for this then I am sure people will accept it, but this "radio silence" thing from EA is getting kinda old. After all it's only your customers that you're ignoring, the people that take the time to join your boards and try and talk to your company so that things improve. |

O so true. I study business studies at school for GCSE. and the main business objective we've been taught is that you have to sell your product to the customer and to do that you have to keep your customers happy. Maybe the EA directors should pop in on one of my lessons; they might learn why they've been doing so badly lately.
Its like they want to fail |

You won't get a statement because they've set the price and I doubt they'll change it, it's all quite similar to the PS3, that got mocked and people said they were gonna boycott it because of the price tag, but people are fickle. EA don't need to drop the price because 50% of the people who say they won't buy it will, and probably a good 25% more will cave within the following months and buy a copy. End of the day the number of people who will buy it ill out-number the people who won't. What with Guitar Hero III being quite lacklustre and the yearly sequels will likely be the same Rock Band will fill the void in the market.

I completely agree, I've been looking forward to this game coming out for AGES!! I saw the price of the american version and thought it wouldn;t be too expensive due to the exchange rate!
I would have bought it DEFINATELY if there was only a slight difference with the exchange rate compared to the american one but the price it's at now is RIDICULOUS. EA lower the price, they;ll still profit because more people will buy it if it's cheaper so it will easily balance out! DO SOMETHING QUICK!!!! |

They won't they're using the excuse of shipping costs and our higher taxes, as if our 17.5% VAT is going to make a massive difference compared to say the 6% Florida sales tax.

The Florida sales tax is irrelevant - prices in the US are listed without tax, prices in the EU/UK are listed with tax. |

Aye I know, but they keep saying don't compare the rrp in america to the rrp in uk because of no tax, but the point is even when you include the individual state tax the price is only a little higher. Meaning they can't use the fact that tax isn't included in the American price as an excuse, because the tax makes such little difference.

Including the tax isn't the right way to go. Compare the RRP in the US to the RRP in the UK with tax subtracted. That gives you a fair comparison of the pre-tax figures - after all, it's not fair to blame EA for the cost imposed directly by our government, right?
And hey, guess what? It's vastly more expensive in the UK. There goes that excuse (again), EA... |

Well you can't buy the microphone separately at the moment, the drums cost about £70 and the game is £40-£50. So you can't really get the full set unless you buy the bundle. That puts the total back up at £140-£180, but only if you really want to do the vocals.

This one's still hanging. No word from EA at all, and not even any word on whether there's going to be. Have the admins heard anything, or are we still going for the hide-behind-the-desks-and-turn-out-the-lights-and-maybe-they'll-think-we're-not-here strategy?
Or is it maybe a case of desperately trying to think up a convincing excuse for the £180 price tag. I can see how that would take a long time. |

Of course we aren't going to get a proper response. EA are a bunch of soul-sucking profit-led corporate drones who don't actually care about gaming as an art form or entertainment medium, but as a big fat pink piggy bank to leach from.

So, in between moderating the language, any chance on an update on when we can expect to hear from EA on this matter, with their convincing explanation as to why they need double the normal markup over US SRP on this game?
Didn't think so. Oh, I'm looking forward to the official thread about the European release over on Gaming-Age. ![]() |
