Another guarenteed sell lost.

This is ridiculous. We should all inform watchdog, this is not the way to look after customers. I've boycotted EA Sports for the last few years, looks like I'm going to have to boycot the whole company until they treat us Europeans with a bit more respect. If everybody who complained about the price of Rockband boycotted EA all together I'm sure they'd listen... or completely abandon us.

A little early to be contacting Watchdog - let's at least give EA the benefit of the doubt and give them chance to say it was all a horrible mistake and that of course the £130 bundle includes the game (whether that's true or not, it's a good way for them to save face).

If they don't, then here's the link.

Yet another guy who registered just to show his displeasure checking in!
I'd just like to say I was planning on buying the game, but any desire to buy Rock Band (along with any other EA developed or published product) has vanished with this announcement, the latest in a long line of disappointing business decisions from EA: Battlefield guns, and assorted rip-off DLC in particular.

Add me to the list of "Registered just to post this".

No way in hell am I paying 220% more than the Americans for the game and then double what they pay for DLC after that. You guys SERIOUSLY need to rethink your pricing. This used to be a definite purchase for me until I read today's news. Now you can keep it!

I'd rather have the real electric guitar than the £180 game

Play.com are pricing the solus game @ £40, and the instrument bundle @ £100:
Play.com (UK) : Rock Band: Band In A Box (Instruments Edition) : Xbox 360 - Free Delivery
Now that is more like a reasonable price, I still may be able to play on release day yet

Still too much, I could get two guitar heros for that.

The Pacifica's quite a nice piece of kit as well. The amp isn't up to much, though. I've already got an incredible guitar (so great that they're finally bringing it back into production after some five years) but I might spend some of the money I save by not buying Rock Band on one of these.

I like £140 on play.com hopefully they will use that price everywhere else. I don't really like play.com

Play.com to the rescue (somewhat)

I mean, £140 is the top price I wanted to pay, but it's a hell of a lot better than the RRP - i'm glad they're reducing it.

I didn't think they would as Guitar Hero always retailed for the RRP
give or take a couple of quid.

I hope more places take this initiative. I'm hoping UK Online Video Games And Consoles Video Games + Free Delivery in Uk orders before 5.30pm dispatched same day - ShopTo.Net do, as they usually do new games for £36 quid very often, knocking even more valuable pounds off of the price.

Reasonable? That is still TWICE as much as in the USA (street price USD 150)!
Come on guys, this is still INSANE!

My apologies to those who couldn't register. There are two register links, the top one worked but the one that was part of the intro text did not work. This is now fixed so let me know if you have any further problems registering.

We have been reading all of your comments and will definitely be passing them on for you.

Default Why?????

Another one of the growing new joiners here just to voice their disappointment and disgust at the pricing for Rock Band in Europe. Why???? Why????? Why???????? I will still get the game only if EA come out and try to justify the pricing. Just tell us why???????????

I seriously can't believe this - I've been really excited about this game for months - I was absolutely going to get it! But now there's just no way - £180 is just too much for a game. I'm disgusted about it - hopefully it'll be changed, because I would still really like this game. But whilst it's at this price, whilst I know that America have got it MUCH cheaper? No thanks, EA - I'm out, personally.

Yeah but places like play often change their prices to fit with the official ones once they've been properly announced, though I'm still holding onto the hope that it really is what play says it is!

the pricing of rockband is simply pathetic.i am a reasonable, grown up guy and till today i did not share the "common" dislike of electronic arts amongst gamers. but this time it is too much, even for me.

i just want to tell, that i refuse to buy any ea game until the pricing policy of rockband is changed. that means in a list of actual games, i wanted to buy in summer (i have finished university at this time and will earn a lot of more money than now): rockband, crysis, burnout paradise, army of two, battlefield bad company, kane's wrath and spore (when its released).

well and a game, i was looking forward to at least 2 or 3 years i wont join too. i played dark age of camelot for 4,5 years, since 2 or 3 years im looking forward to play warhammer online (which is from the same studio as you all know). that wont happen, i promise. so im glad you will lose my monthly fee for warhammer online, too.

i hope a lot of guys 'n girls act the same way, ea shall feel how much money they lose, if they mess up with us, the people they live from.

Haven't posted on these forums in ages, but todays pricing announcement can't be ignored

Thanks EA for making us wait 6 months past the US release for Rock Band and thanks for them deceiding to rip us off by charging more than double the US price for the full system

I had been really looking forward to getting Rock Band for ages and have looked at the US forums with envy over the past few months, but at the frankly stupid money grubbing price point you seem to have settled on, I can safely say that there is no way on earth you''ll be seeing any of my money

Very let down EA, but sadly, not at all suprised
