My heart really wants Ireland to win but my head thinks it will be a France ( Who I hate) against New Zealand (Who I hate even more

Yes. They would be really good but the polynesians jsut make them into a dream team. If you think about it, our best two players are Carter and McCaw, who happento be the best first five and flanker in the world at the moment. they arent polynesians. NZ just has perfect players to choose from. we have heaps of polys in nz that should really be playing for Samoa/Fiji/Tonga but end up playing for the all blacks thats true, but if you took all the polynesians out and just had maoris and europeans i think itd still be a decent team.
it would be way better for the game if the island teams kept all their players though.

Argentina - solid set of fowards and world class half backs. outside chance but are in the group of death
Australia - not much has been said about australias chances, most of the focus has been on NZ and SA. possible dark horses
England - the world cup has come too soon. things are improving under ashton but i think quarters at best. i dont think well be embarassed but we dont have enough attacking threat from the backs yet
France - one day world beaters, next day pub team. they have the ability to challenge NZ and SA, especiall with home advantage, but i doubt if they will be able to string 7 good games together.
ireland - another possible dark horse. good all round side and the o'gara, o'driscoll, d'arcy combo is world class
New Zealand - obvious favourites but they have been favourites for every world cup since 95. easily the best team on paper and the only threat to them is if they choke
South Africa - extremely powerful fowards game and reliable kicker. may struggle if teams can cope with their power game. however, i still think they have the best chance of challenging NZ
Wales - class backs but weak front five. i know they fronted up against argentina but im still not convinced. gareth jenkins is a completely useless coach as well. quarters at best
