I'm sure ferguson has made plenty in his time also. One of them being pushing Tevez out the door.

But Rafa made them in a smaller window of time. Fergie's mistakes have been spread out through years.

Playing skrtel as rb is better than playing fletcher as rb (which our man fergie did against burnley.... And we lost)

14. Buying a decent CF in Dirk Kuyt and turning him into a right winger who's job is to sprint around all game.

Not buying Barry after he sold Alonso was his biggest mistake.

16 (extension of 15) - buying one of the most sought after youngsters in football, Babel, and letting him stagnate.

Barry was already at Man City when Xabi left.

I'd say signing Mark Gonzalez was one of them.

You mean turning a fairly average CF into the second best RW in the prem last season behind Ronaldo? I would say that was a success to be honest but that is just me!

71 goals in like 100 games for Feyenoord before arriving in England is fairly average?

What are you talking about?

He didn't set the world alight as a CF at Liverpool

Kuyt is a true working-man's footballer. Bleeds for the shirt and cares for the team.

2. THE failure to keep Xabi Alonso, who finally quit for Real Madrid after a feud with Benitez.

3. BENITEZ'S refusal to bring back goalscoring legend Michael Owen. He's now with despised rivals Manchester United.

4. SELLING Peter Crouch to Pompey last year. The England hitman had a decent strike record - 54 goals in 132 appearances.

5. SELECTING Andriy Voronin at Lyon on Wednesday. He was an embarrassment.

6. THE failure to buy a proven second striker. Ryan Babel and Co aren't up to it.

7. LIVERPOOL seem more worried about losing than winning - like last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Fulham.

8. LOSING No 2 Paco Ayesteran after a petty row.

9. BUYING Robbie Keane for £20m from Spurs, showing little faith before selling him back for an £8m loss.

10. LEAVING strike star Torres on the bench for 60 minutes in the stalemate at Stoke last season.

11. WHEN goals were needed in the 2007 Euro final he had Crouch and Craig Bellamy on the bench.

12. THAT Fergie rant. Rafa was right to question the United boss' influence last season but the timing could not have been worse.

13. TAKING off Yossi Benayoun in the home clash against Lyon. Even the loyal Kop booed.

13 baffling Beni blunders | The Sun |Sport|Football

IMO, what a rubbish article, anyone agree with any of these "blunders"?!

EDIT : Okay, I agree with the Alonso one but then again, why keep a player that wants to leave..
Im not even going to go near that site. but it doesnt surprise me one bit comming form scum like them.

If rafa has his 13 blunders then im sure wenger has his 20 and fergie has his 40 big blunders.

Rafa has done well with whats hes been given imo and ok he makes mistakes but its blatently obvious that the s*n want him out, because he isnt the only man in football to make those mistakes.

By that time it could be too late though. Why on earth he wasn't put on against Lyon is still beyond me..

I think circumstances mate, if you think about it, it was 1-0 to us up until the 90th minute so really why risk him when we are winning, when they scored there was little time to change things so it would have been daft given that he could have really bad luck and then get injured.

he did though, he scored a great goal, that was about all he actually did during the whole time he was one, he screwed up a free kick and should have done better with a shot in the box and yet again he didnt beat his full-back once.

Thats down to the player and not Rafa then. We all know that he is capable of getting back to his best but won't because he is sulking due to better players being playing ahead of him.
