Dan Petrescu is a true legend, such a shame that we didn't draw Urziceni in the European cup.

I guess their fans idolize Chelsea from what I have read. Would have been interesting if you would have drawn them. Just imagine if you would have had Chelsea, Rangers, and Unirea Urziceni in the same group would have been very interesting.

We have solid links with them, and ive followed their results for over a year now. Petrescu is a legend at both clubs, at Chelsea after Zola, Petrescu is probably the most loved foreign player when it comes to the fans. He's absolutely ADORED here!

The dream European group:
Chelsea
Rangers
Lazio
Unirea Urziceni

Unfortunately Urziceni have lost against Fc Vaslui score 1-2.Steaua's legend Marius Lacatus is the new manager at Vaslui.

I hope urziceni will make an good match with Rangers. It will be a crucial weekfor some of our teams in Europe.
UCL:
Rangers-Urziceni

EL:
CFR-Sparta Prague
Steaua-Fenerbahce
Galatasaray-Dinamo
FC Timisoara-Anderlecht

I hope Unirea will have a good result,Rangers is a very good team no doubt, but I really want to see a team in the 2nd round of the CL,in the EL I think Steaua will have a tough match,Timisoara must beat Andrlecht to have any chance for qualifying, and the sam goes for CFR and Dinamo, too bad Rapid isn't in the EL

Dan Petrescu claims it will be a "disaster" for Rangers if they fail to beat his Unirea Urziceni side in the Champions League at Ibrox.

The Romania champions sit third in the Group G table, ahead of Tuesday's hosts on goal difference.

"All the pressure is on Rangers," he said. "Rangers are the best team, they are the biggest club and they have more experience in this competition.

"If they don't win I think it's going to be a big disaster for the club."

Petrescu has not been impressed by Rangers' away form this season - they have won two out of five games - but admits they are a formidable outfit at Ibrox.

"I think Rangers are a team of two faces," the former Chelsea player said. "It's no good studying their away games, I don't think they play that well.

"When they play at home, it's another Rangers, they are a much better team.

"They lost in the last game against Sevilla, but they lost in difficult circumstances. They deserved a penalty in the first half and maybe the game would have been different.

"That's their only defeat of the season, so it will be very tough.

"If you were to give me the point now, I think it would be a good deal."

Urziceni became the smallest town to boast a Champions League qualifier after Unirea brought the Romanian title back to the 17,000 inhabitants for the first time last season.

A Romanian club has not qualified for the knockout stages since 2000 and Petrescu admits it would be an achievement to clinch third place.

But he believes his players are ready to challenge for second after learning from their opening matches.

"Our target is to finish third and to be in the Europa League in the spring," he said.

"If we finish second, it would be a great achievement."

Both sides have lost to Sevilla and drawn with Stuttgart and Petrescu believes his side are better prepared ahead of their double header with the Scottish champions.

"The players know what the competition is all about now," he said. "I don't think we are going to be afraid now.

"I think the players will be braver than before, more patient when they have the ball.

"In the first game, they released the ball too early because it was their first time in the competition."

Petrescu's side lost 2-1 at home to mid-table Vaslui on Friday and sit fifth in the Romanian top-flight, three points behind leaders Timisoara, as they seek to retain their first-even domestic title.

And some have discounted Unirea's chances of qualifying from a Champions League group headed by Sevilla with maximum points and with Stuttgart unbeaten in second place.

"Not us, we believe," was the former Chelsea and Romania defender's response.

"It is our second appearance in Europe and our first in the Champions League.

"It means a lot. It's a first for this club and most of the players.

"We're a very small club and, for us, it's a dream come true.

"It's a miracle to play in the Champions League.

"We will just do our best and hopefully get to a level nobody really expected."

Petrescu spent five years with Chelsea, having emerged in a Steau Bucharest side he helped reach the European Cup final.

"I was hoping to be drawn with Chelsea in the first round," he said.

"But hopefully we can reach the next round and play them then."
