I wouldn't be surprised if he starts for us to be honest. One of the few defenders i've seen go straight into Messi and stop him, this guy is ready for the big stage.

Pep realizes that Marquez gets way too many injuries, he was cheap, but still, way too many for a starting defender. That's why he brought Pique in, and with Puyol not getting any younger, Pep is thinking of the future.

Sorry man, as much as I love Pique and Marquez, they are not defensively better than Chygrynskiy. Especially Marquez, his strong suits are more long balls and headers, he is the slowest defender we have at the moment and the less defensively capable against quality opposition.

as for chiellini hes not worth over 20 million at all hes so clumsy

So the worlds best fullback isn't worth £20m? How do you work that out, the worlds best in any other position is over £20m so why not fullback?

Bull, Alves was well worth the money. You should've seen him today, crossing like a god. And he was a important factor in Barça's treble last season, Messi himself said that with Alves next to him, it allowed him more freedom and less constraints from defenders.

People seem to forget that a defender can be just as important, if not more important than an attacker. Doesn't matter if you score 5 goals if you have a sloppy defense that conceeds 6.

Defenders can be worth more than £20m.

full back is the least important position on the pitch imo
when i play there sometimes i feel useless

That's false imo, if your fullback is lalalala you are going to leak goals as the other team will bomb the ball down his side of the pitch.

Also a world class fullback adds another dimension to your attacking threat.

With the money, publicity, cups, fans, etc. that they've earned this season I'm sure they can spend this kind of money on 1 player.

Dani Alves, Lahm(with germany), Evra, Maicon, Sergio Ramos are so important for there team!

NO Doubt Full backs can be important and the likes of thse guys are defo worth more then 20mil.

Your opinion, but Evra is crazy make some really good tackles, strong on the ball and very attacking minded.

Ramos is defensivly weaker, but there are games that he really proves me wrong where he stands like a rock! Also great header and luvs too attack.

i think evra is a very average defender....good attackin but very easy to get a crosses into thebox from and caught out of position a lot....oh and aaron lennon

ramos is even worse at defendin imo. guy gets booked all the time too

might be as a right-footed left winger i tend to come in on my right and shoot rather than get the ball in the box but still i dont view full back as an important position what position do you view as least important then mate ?
