I agree with LFC, Barca have the money, so for them to spend silly money to get the right players isn't such a big deal. Because there's no way you can get a world class young CB on the cheap right now.

Barca have got ripped off imo. No way is this guy worth 22m when hes totally unproven. Skrtel only cost us 6m a couple of seasons back and he had a bigger rep than this guy.

I don't think they're bothered. Pep has a small list of players he wants and was happy to pay anything to get them, he obviously rates this player and is willing to overpay to get his man.

That your overpaying for a totally unproven CB.

Pique was ok even though he was 4th choice at united but hes turned into a great CB.

Skrtel is a liverpool CB whos as tough as there is, but not as good as our best CB daniel agger.

Personally its a shame that garay is playing for real as I feel he would have done great along side pique.

I've seen this guy play many times......if you haven't seen him yourself then you aren't really that hot on football considering he's played against England, been in many internationals......played for Shakhtar against English and European opposition......

This guy or Lescott? This guy is TWICE the player Lescott is and younger........the price is maybe a tad inflated but he is a quality player.

Where did I say 60m for Zlatan is an amazing deal? 35-40m for Zlatan is. That's what they paid.

Eto'o was worth 0 (ZERO) to Barcelona. He was unwanted by the club, didn't accept City's offer, no-one else came in with a bid for him, last year contract, didn't want to sign a new one.

You do the math.

Not exactly true, Barca did accept our offer - which was 25m btw. - and both Eto'o and his agent said they would be (quote) "delighted" to come to City if Barca want to sell.

Problem was Barca never really admitted they want to sell cause that would have meant Eto'o gets a loyalty fee (percentage of the value of the deal) which would have been a lot. So the deal dragged on and on and we pulled out. If Barca had gotten their act together they could have had 25m for Eto'o.

So glad we got him, we have the versatility to put Marquez at DM and move Toure to CM if need be.

His skill on the ball is like no other CB and he has the height and vision to see the ball through to the front line.
