Thought I would start off an Aston Villa thread as there is not long to wait until the start of the season. I already have bought my tickets for our first away trip to Anfield (easy win!).

Peace Cup Squad (announced today)

Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan, Elliot Parish, Marc Albrighton, Barry Bannan, John Carew, Ciaran Clark, Carlos Cuellar, Curtis Davies, Marlon Harewood, Chris Herd, Emile Heskey, Zat Knight, Eric Lichaj, Shane Lowry, Isaiah Osbourne, Stiliyan Petrov, Nigel Reo-Coker, Moustapha Salifou, Nicky Shorey, Steve Sidwell, Ashley Young, Luke Young, Jonathan Hogg, Wilfred Bouma, Andreas Weimann.

Should be a good season for us and hopefully we can get another top 6th finish!

I think Villa need to get some defenders and one or two more midfielders in really.

I like Villa, mainly due to the fact that a lot of there squad is English. Good manager too. I wanted you guys to finish 4th this year. One day maybe, although by the looks of things you may need to spend big.

Did Hutton move to Aston Villa? heard he went for 5m

would be a good move for him and Scotland if he's getting played regularly this season

Too bad your moron of a coach values Young at 30 million, cuz I could see Liverpool offering about 20.

When we have already solf our best player he is hardly going to let him walk away. I'm not saying he is worth 30 M but then there are lots of players who have been sold for more than they are worth.

Downing should be fit by October/November

and no we havn't signed Hutton. yet ..

He's supposed to be fit around October. Not to bothered about him anyway, I think he's overrated and if O'Neill keeps buying average players then we can kiss a top 6 finish goodbye. He needs to spend. We need at least five more players in, most of top quality. If he doesn't buy, he can't use the "We don't have a big enough squad so they were tired at the end of the season" excuse when we finish 7th or 8th.

We need a top class centre-back to fill in Laursen's boots, which will be very tough to fill. Distin sounds good, but I don't know if he is good enough to replace Laursen.
We also need a top class central midfielder, but I don't want us to sell Reo-Coker and I think he should be given a go in central midfield to prove he is good enough. I'd also like to see us sign Delph for the future but once again O'Neill is stalling over a move so Everton will probably nick in and get him before us.

Harewood- Have him Please, just take him. No being serious, I don't know. I would rate him at about £3million, maybe more. Mind you, we bought him for £4million so O'Neill would probably want that back.

Reo-Coker- I wouldn't want to see him go. I think, if he is just given the chance, he could fill in Barry's gap. He's still only young and is a very versatile player, he can play is 3 or 4 different positions. We payed around £8million so I would expect we would want to get that back. So Middlesborough's supposed £3 million bid wouldn't be enough. Plus, he is too good t drop down a league and, at his age, why would he want to?

Villa have become my 2nd favourite Prem team (after Sunderland ofcourse), another big traditional club and I like the English core in the side. Relegation Newcastle also helped.

I'll be keeping an eye on how things go for you next season, hopefully another top 6 finish.

I dont know if I want Harewood to sign. It would depend if we sign Zamora or not, as I think them 2 did a very good job together at West Ham.

Reo-Coker I really like. Got a great engine on him and could do well with Bullard in the Mdifield. Doubt our intrest is solid tho, probably just rumours wiith him been linked with Boro.

Well my dad is from Sunderland so I'm always looking for their scores. Don't like to see them struggling.

Reo-Coker would be a fantastic signing. He always puts 110% into every game, which is why I don't want him to go. Him and Milner are such good workers, always put full effort into every game. I just don't want Reo-Coker to leave, you can have Harewood though

How is that being a moron. Obviously he is going to value his best player over what he is really worth so he doesn't get any bids for him. We don't want to sell him, but if we are forced to O'Neill has a right to get as much for him as he can

I expected October, not December. I don't understand why we didn't just buy him in January. Not long till the season and our only signing is injured for half the season.
