Discraceful game last the panamanians played rough last night but futbol is physical. Unclassy mexican supporters and the team kept whining. I really expected aguirre to have more class but I guess not.

Makes me feel sick to be in cancun

Group A Preview- Gameweek 3

Costa Rica Vs Canada

A draw or a victory for Costa Rica will increase their possibilities of qualifying to the next stage. Canada on the other hand need only a draw to be the first team to book a spot in the next round

My prediction- Costa Rica 1- 2 Canada

El Savador Vs Jamaica

El Savador definitely need a victory to reach the knockout phase. Jamaica on the other hand need to secure a comprehensive victory & will qualify only if Canada defeats Costa Rica.

My prediction- El Savador 2- 0 Jamaica

Live streams for todays games are available on Omnisport.tv .

Enjoy the games!!

Aren't both games at the same time?? How is that possible?

NVM, I see now they aren't. But that is stupid! The last matchday should have games at the same time to give everyone a fair advantage.

Apparently Benny Feilhaber will return to his club team a la Adu, damn I wanted to see him in the knockout stages.

Post-game, coach Aguirre, facing a lengthy ban, apologized for his actions, saying he was correctly ejected by Aguilar:

"It was an imprudent act on my part," Aguirre said. "I sincerely regret it. It was a product of passion. The Panamanian team deserves an apology as well."
Well, I was going to reserve judgement, since I didn't see the game live. However, now that the guilty culprit has admitted wrong doing I wont:

Aguirre should be banned, indefinitely.

There is very little excuse for a player attempting to injury or physically harm another player on the pitch, but a Manager doing so is beyond excuse or reasoning.

Clearly, since Aguirre is incapable of providing an example of professionalism and expectations of how you conduct yourself, CONCACAF should step to remind everyone within it's Confederation the result of failing to act like a professional.

Anything other than a ban from the rest of the tournament and potentially several WC-qualifiers after, is simply rewarding this juvenile behavoir.

This wasn't a " product of passion " but rather a product of immaturity and ignorance. Quite frankly, he's lucky if he is able to retain his job, if you ask me.

This was an overall, disgraceful act within the Confederation, plain and simple. It's punishment should be equal in it's significance.

Very unprofessional for both sides though, but Vasco really lost his head, Mexico should have never let Hugo go

only people who actually saw the whole match has a legit say on the issue... and quite frankly, Panama started it... with a criminal assault on our GK that didn't even end in a card... and throughout the match, both sides verbally abused and fouled each other a lot... but it was the Panamanian players who showed the least class... by time wasting and making the more dangerous challenges... Aguirre shouldn't have had his damn shoe up to try and stop the ball in the first place, but he got a red, and that's the price he'll pay...

I sincerely feel sorry for the Nicaragua NT, a side that will have to put up with Panama's antics...

Fairly sure Aguirre was there and based off his own admission, we're more than equipped to have commentary on the subject.

You're free to continue the barrage of excuses and justifications but your own Manager is admitting fault and wrong doing. Obviously, he isn't apologizing for " trying to stop a ball " and has said his emotions got the best of him (i.e. He's as shameful if not more so than anyone involved, as a Manager).

I've seen the actual video (Mexico vs Panama Gold Cup - Highlights | TheOriginalWinger.com).

1:55 - Panama foward deliberately taking out Ochoa

3:03 - Aguirre deliberately kicking Phillips

4:39 - An even better angle, of Aguirre kicking Phillips in the run of play (going for the ball? did YOU watch the game?)

Aguirre's foot was raised waist left and connected with Phillip's balls. Additionally, the whistle had yet to be blown when Aguirre got up from the bench and by the time he involved himself, the whistle had been blown for literally, barely a second prior to contact.

It'd be easy to just point the finger at Panama's antics. It'd blatantly ignorant to avoid doing the same for Mexico's antics.

Both National Teams should be embarrassed.

Additonally, the Mexican supporters that forced security to hold Panama's squad in the middle of the pitch due to safety concerns and hazards, while objects were being thrown at them, should be ashamed.

4:39 shows it pretty clearly, if Aguirre wanted to stop the ball his foot wouldnt have been so high. Tsk Tsk.

I'd rather have a high scoreline than good football right now

Someone brought vuvezela's from South Africa, can you hear them in the stands?

Final score Canada 2-2 Costa Rica, some cracking goals in this one Centeno/De Jong's strikes were class.

Canada is through on 7 points, Costa Rica has four and need results to go their way for them to advance.
