Looks like the draw was a good one but there was one thing I wanted that didn't happen and that would be Partizan v Dinamo Zagreb. Since they dominate Serbia and Croatia respectively I think it will happen one of these days. That would probably be one of the best qualifiers ever for obvious reasons.

don't be too cocky, Levadia are actaully quite good, especially when it comes to CL qualifications

Mogren prevail in curtain-raiser

Marko Ćetković and Petar Grbić were on target as FK Mogren kicked off the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League season with a comfortable win.

Late strike
Just 34 days after FC Barcelona were crowned European champions in Rome, the 2009/10 edition got under way in Malta and the honour of scoring the first goal went to 22-year-old midfielder Ćetković, who put visitors Mogren ahead on 33 minutes. And the Montenegrin titleholders will be confident they can complete the first qualifying round victory over their Maltese counterparts on home soil in eight days, especially after striker Grbić, 20, doubled their advantage a minute from time. The long road to the UEFA Champions League final at the Santiago Bernabéu has begun.

The tournament is now officially underway!

Default UEFA Champions League 2009–10

UEFA Champions League 2009–10 qualifying rounds

First Qualifying Round

First Leg:
30th June 2009
Hibernians (Malta) 0-2 Morgen (Montenegro)

Marko Ćetković and Petar Grbić were on target as FK Mogren kicked off the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League season with a comfortable win.

Just 34 days after FC Barcelona were crowned European champions in Rome, the 2009/10 edition got under way in Malta. Without star players Terence Scerri and Rumen Galabov, Hibernians conceded control of the game to their Montenegrin visitors, and the honour of scoring the first goal went to 22-year-old midfielder Ćetković, who beat Mario Muscat from left-back Luka Pajović's superb ball after 32 minutes.

With captain Goran Jovanović impressive in midfield, Mogren kept up the pace after the break but did not make their pressure tell until two minutes from time as the 20-year-old Gibić pounced on a defensive error to double their tally with a cool finish. The two sides meet again in Montenegro on 8 July, with Mark Miller's Hibernians seemingly set for an early exit.

Oh, that's really unfortunate Totti. Did Roma qualify for the Europa League though?
