The roar have a good chance of winning the title, with a few player out they still managed to beat ccm.

Personally, I don't see De Vere as a fullback, he looks far better as a centerhalf. Josh is getting old too, so his time may soon come to fade into the background and allow De Vere and Mundy to take center stage. This is of course not mentioning Seo, looked a tad shaky tonight early on, but played his way in. Far more likely for next season we'll be seeing a formation much more like:

....................Reddy
Packer......Moore...De Vere...Tiatto
...........Murdocca...McKay
Cernak/Henrique............Zullo
........................Nichols
................Van Dijk

Bloody hell can McKay and Murdocca cover some turf over 90 minutes! Zullo destroyed the central coast's defense and Nichols is showing us signs of what he will be someday. Some of his goals haven't been exactly beautiful (think his goal against Perth), but boy, he's got a talent. Right places, right times and with time he will be the next big name.

Looking at the squad, if Kruse can revive his career we will have the best attack in the competition! Thinking as well that Reinaldo is still to return and Miller is getting fitter and fitter we may see a side that on paper is better than anything the Gold Coast could muster!

Actually, I'm trying to picture this Gold Coast side. If they were to go in a 4-4-2 then this may be something like what we may see:

...................Vanstrattan
Thwaite.....Griffiths...Piorkowski...Pantelidis
Osman........Culina.....Osman......Minniecon
................Porter.....Smeltz

Hmmm... Not sure of the left back or left side of midfield...

they have to brazilians i think culina wil play on the right and them 2 brazlians in the middle in think there both centre mids.

dont no why everyone puts packer in there team he is rubbish good postional play but other then that his is lalalala he could tackle a 10 yr old without giving a foul away

cant wait for next yr tho gonna be the best ever

btw i thought kruse is on his way ouy

Kruse still may have a future at Queensland and I sure do hope so. He was so promising last season! It would be a shame for him not to come back and redeem himself.

Packer is a good player, solid enough and I don't see another right fullback as good who isn't getting on in age or playing out of position. Ideally we could get another one for the new season ontop of having Seo and Packer, but hey, let's see what happens.

Culina isn't a right midfielder though, and with him being by far their best player it would be a mistake for them to not play him in the center.

They could go for a 4-3-3, that might be a bit better:

...................Vanstrattan
Thwaite.....Griffiths...Piorkowski...Pantelidis
............Culina..Robson...Osman
.....Minniecon.....Porter.....Smeltz

That might be passable, still not sure of their defense. I can see a lot of room for complete collapse in that squad. If their imports fail... They don't really have the depth of squad to cover for them. Their defense looks very shaky too. Personally, I'm not sure of Smeltz or Porter and Minniecon's impact might be limited without a midfield as mobile and McKay and Murdocca. Though that being said Culina will get himself about.

At the moment the Gold Coast could really be the best side in the league, or the very worst, we really can't judge until they play together. With pressure on them to get immediate results with a squad that's never played together, I can see it all going wrong very easily.

When it comes to the Fury, their squad isn't done yet, but it has touches that are as impressive as the Gold Coast's. Though I'm not sure how well Folwer is going to cope with North Queensland in the summer. When all is said and done, I think they have about as much potential as the Gold Coast at the moment, and with some decent recruiting could be an asset to the league. Though again, it could all go wrong so easily if they expect too much too soon with a new squad.

The Fury aren't even done yet!

Robbie Fowler... I'm really not sure about him, has the potential to be the biggest player in the league though!

Simon is certainly looking impressive, but he's certainly not the finished article yet. Boy though, is he dominant!

I like the Central Coast's striker force, the rest isn't really much to get exited about. Mrdja, Simon, McAlister and currently Petrovski... Those are some strikers! Mrdja is probably the best there, but he's made of glass. Not good for proffesional footballers!

Henrique signed to 1 year deal after trial period

Quote:
QUEENSLAND Roar’s attack has been bolstered for next season with the longer-term signing of Brazilian winger and former triallist Henrique.

The 23-year-old has signed a one-year contract deal after impressing the club's coaching staff in a four week trial.
During that period, Henrique - wearing the No. 33 shirt - made two bench appearances for the club in the A-League finals series.
While still caught up in the whirlwind nature of his visit to Australia, the diminutive Brazilian is keen to make an even bigger impact in the upcoming season.
"It has been a unique experience so far, I never expected things to happen so fast as I came here thinking about next season," Henrique said before returning to Brazil.
"I'm very happy to know what I showed during training and the little bit during the game was enough to gain a contract.
"I do believe I have more to show everyone, especially with a full pre-season under my belt.
"It won't be easy to be in the starting XI but I'll be giving 110 per cent to prove I deserve a starting spot during the season."
Although only with the club a short time, Henrique felt the pain same pain as his new teammates at falling one game short of the Grand Final, something he's not keen to repeat in his first full season with Roar.
"Being able to be part of two such important games will help me out next season," he said. "The feelings I have now is to make sure next season we do not lose an important game next season.
"I don't want to feel that vibe again as we did after the loss in Adelaide. Hopefully I can be the lucky charm next season so we can achieve the goal of qualifying for Asia and maybe making the Grand Final."
Frank Farina believes Henrique's addition will give the squad more depth and expects, with a full pre-season under his belt, the Brazilian to offer the club plenty of attacking power.
"He's young and he's hungry," Farina said. "It's a long pre-season and I think it's a good thing for him to settle into the new environment, new country, new culture. That, I think, is a real positive.
"It is difficult for foreign players to slot in, as I've said, but hopefully he can do that and contribute to what we want to achieve."
