Bosman is just a free transfer and thats basically what it was. If Sol Campbell is considered a Bosman then so is Cesc because he turned down a professional contract with Barca to sign a professional deal with Arsenal and that is exactly what Sol did to Tottenham by not signing the new deal they offered.

I love the way you brought up Voronin and Degen.. Did you not realise that they weren't going to be in the first-team.. They are back-up players..

I still don't consider either of them flops..
Ballack? Almost won us the league single handedly last season after returning from injury, when the going got tough he stepped up, especially with half the squad dropping like flies, shame he only got half a season.

In the space of a year, it's impressive, but he's not had the impact that some of the others have..

I still can't undertand why Geovanni is there?..

But Arsenal still had to pay to get him.. He wouldn't have joined otherwise..

Actually he would have. It wasn't until a year later that we had to pay the money because the courts said we had too due to him receiving introduction through Barca.

The money paid for Cesc had nothing to do with the player and more to do with Barca being bitter a year later when he was playing for us. Had Cesc been a failure they wouldn't have been worried about getting anything. Originally Barca were wanting the courts to award them £11M.

I didn't know that.. I thought they had to pay a compensation package to get him in the first place..

Really? Well, for starters, he's only been here for 2 seasons - the rest on that list were in the Premiership for far longer than that, and the majority of them are already retired.

To us he's been a great asset, in his first season he played a pivital role in getting us to the FA Cup Final (Which we won, he scored the winner in the Semis Vs Blackburn), played a massive role in the Carling Cup final (Which we won, he set up Drogba with a great lob to equalise), and he played a big role in the Champions League scoring the winner past Porto - we completely fell apart when he got injured though, both in the league and against Liverpool in the CL Semi's, you know what it is? Media driven bollox.

I'm not saying that he hasn't had an impact.. I'm saying players like Friedel etc. have had a bigger impact than him.. If he keeps up the way he has been playing he'll be up there, but he isn't yet..

Nope. Originally he was going to sign with Barca but after talking with Wenger and knowing how Wenger handled young players he decided against signing a professional contract and was free to join whoever he wanted. When he finally broke into the team Barca decided they wanted to get some free money and decided to file a suit against us, but in the end all we paid was £100K.

In recent times they have tried to tie in first refusal with Arsenal so that if he ever leaves they get first option but we always say no.

In the Henry transfer we could have gotten £22M if we gave them first refusal rights and we could have gotten £18.5M for Hleb but again we said no on the first refusal.
