I agree. The guys I named are going to more than likely be playing in the World Cup after next and will probably have some role, even if a small one, in this one. Why not use it as an opportunity to get them used to the atmosphere?

That's what friendlies are for. I just think the Confed Cup is more than just a friendly tournament. It needs to be taken more seriously than a friendly tournament. You don't have enough time to give experience for youngsters for the World Cup.

Friendlies aren't nearly as "serious" and if they are fielding decent teams, that's quite valuable experience.

Teams bring some frontline players, but majority of them are players fighting for a first team spot and fringe players, even Australia didn't bring all their first team players last time around.

Groups announced.

Italy
Brazil
Egypt
USA

Spain
New Zealand
South Africa
Iraq

One tough group, one sleeper. Not trying to be over confident or anything, but I can see the US finishing 4th in their group. But every game in that group should be great.

Oh my God!!! I knew Egypt would get a tough group (we were too lucky for the draw for the WC Qualifiers). I can't wait to watch every single game in the group of death. Spain will score like 30 goals! lol.

Final will be Brazil v Spain
Semifinal will be Iraq v Italy

EDIT: Im really glad Egypt got this draw because now we get to play against the big guns and test our strength. Wouldn't be a test to play against New Zealand, South Africa, or Iraq.

I have a feeling South Africa will perform well for the World Cup Sake. Maybe Blatter will pay the refs lol.

Now that the groups have been announced, I have put up the poll.

FYI: the order in which you see the teams in the poll (from top to bottom) is the way I personally rank the teams.
