Definitely, because he is the Guus Hiddink of the West.

Ives' breaks down Jozy's work permit situation:
Quote:
So what are Altidore's chances of securing that work permit? Here's a closer look:

Altidore has played in 13 of 24 U.S. national team official matches (qualifiers and tournaments), but that total of 24 includes the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which he missed after playing in the Confederations Cup.

Altidore's appeal is likely to be based on the fact that, at 19, he has played in 10 of 10 official matches in 2009, not including the Gold Cup (the argument is likely to be made that since Altidore played in the Confederations Cup he shouldn't be punished for missing the six matches in the Gold Cup). In fact, when you take out the Gold Cup, Altidore has played in 72 percent of U.S. matches over the past two years, just under the 75 percent required to automatically receive a UK work permit.

So why are Altidore's chances better than Guzan's? Altidore has established himself as a national team starter and is being brought in by Hull to start, two things Guzan didn't have going for him when his first bid for a work permit was rejected.

Yeah, I should think that Jozy won't have a problem getting a permit.

The details do not matter when bacon is involved.

Guess with the start of the Europa Leauge and Champions League, and some league matches, we will start to have to do updates on playing time for our boys.

Dempsey started today in Fulham's Europa League game. I will have to find out more details a bit later.

Update: He went the full 90 minutes. Eddie Johnson came on in the 82nd minute. Neither scored, and I am trying to find out if either figured in any of the 3 goals.

Also, St. Patricks moved on, despite a 3-2 loss. Trying to find out if Ryan Guy played, although, he definitely did not score.

Valerenga (Troy Perkins) beat PAOK Salonika away from home today, 1-0, but appear to have gone out on away goals.

I think thats all for today. Somebody should double check though.

Perkins is a good player. his team played ok today but they were dominated by PAOK. i was quite angry because we were hitting any bar you could imagine. im glad there is a yank in the norsk league. i like vaalrenga. but i am very angry they drew with us on agg and beat us at home.

Just so you guys know, we have the option to sign Altidore any time we want. We have agreed a £6m fee and if we ever want to sign him all we have to do is agree personal terms. Basically we are trying before we buy

Is it in the contract, or if Altidore scores 20 can Villareal suddenly inflate the price?

This was from the writeup of the game from Soccernet. Right first name, right nationality, wrong last name, age, race, position, etc.

Good for a laugh though.

Wouldn't that mean he would be your record signing, didn't Bullard come for £5m?

I AGREE

Goals from the Fulham win yesterday. If that were MLS stats counting, Dempsey would have had two assists, for the first pass on the second Johnson goal.

They can't. We have agreed a fee, and if we agree personal terms he's ours whenever we want. Think of it like Fortune. WBA had the option to buy him for 1.5m when other teams were offering 3m but Nancy had to accept as they had agreed it.

Thats true, but I think we will sign someone before then over 6m.

I hope Hull does end up buying him. I would acutally love go to to England sometime and watch him play given if he actually gets in the start 11 regulary and plays all the time.
