I didn't realise Portugal made so little appearances in the World Cup. You learn something new everyday, I suppose.

Would've been in the final had we faced Brasil but nooo! give us France, a team we never beat, and Germany, a style that clashes with our own rendering Scolari's tactics useless...

Yeah that was '66. I was talking about this century.

Thanks for reminding me of that though.

I wonder how we will do with Carlos Quieroz.

Well it was up to him if he wanted to come, I don't think the FPF had enough money...otherwise we'd be able to draw in Mourinho earlier, but he figured coaching club was his thing for now.

We had alot of options, Queiroz was thrown around alot, but he wasn't our first choice I'd assume. Well, thank God we got him and not Jesualdo Ferreira

OffTopic: Dude your 10 posts away from 10,000.

I think Queiroz will do exceptionally well.

I do to, well atleast I hope he does. I don't think he'll have a better connection with the players than Scolari, nor is he a better coach than Scolari...but I think he'll handle the media much better, something Scolari couldn't handle in Portugal which might've thrown him off during the Euro qualifiers (wonder if he could do it in England ).

Off-topic: Yeah I know I hope something happens...like money falls from the sky, or JF gets fired

Here is our most recent call up according to the FPF (credit to Nezokk, you're the best )

Atletico Madrid: Simão;
Chesea FC: Bosingwa, Deco, Paulo Ferreira e Ricardo Carvalho;
Dinamo de Moscovo: Danny;
FC Porto: Bruno Alves e Raúl Meireles;
Galatasaray SK: Fernando Meira;
Málaga CF: Duda;
Manchester United FC: Nani;
Real Madrid CF: Pepe;
SC Braga: Eduardo;
SL Benfica: Carlos Martins, Nuno Gomes e Quim;
Sporting CP: João Moutinho;
SV Werder Bremen: Hugo Almeida;
US Lecce SPA: Antunes;
Valência CF: Manuel Fernandes;
VFL Bochum 1848: Daniel Fernandes.

No Ricardo, no Quaresma, and Ronaldo is out injured...thoughts anyone?

Personally I like this look a bit, it shows that we're not going out on the pitch with our best XI players, but with a more organized, stable squad that's trying to achieve the opposite of a Galacticos style. Eduardo deserves this call up who I'm happy for Dani Fernandes just moved away from Greece, and I think he definitely deserves a chance to play more times for the NT. I dunno about Duda, Danny, and Antunes (baring in mind that Antunes hardly played for Roma, and should be starting for Lecce this season...but Duda and Danny are iff'y if I have to be honest.

Rolando also got a call up but who will he partner

Is anyone watching the U-21 game, Portugal x Czech Republic? 3-2 for the Czechs right now...we were up a goal, they equalized, then we went up another goal, then they got two unanswered goals.

Veloso and Barbosa for Portugal...dunno about the Czechs.

Our U-teams are soo washed up now, I swear, these kids have real quality, but they goto one of the top clubs in Portugal and they get sh*t on because of all the foreign players coming in to the top 3. lalala Barbosa is class, one of the best young wingers I've seen in a long time...we called him back to Porto in January and he didn't even play enough to amount a full match, effin' shame players like Mariano Gonzalez are getting places over him Same thing goes for Veloso, spoiled brat and diva now, thinks he's the illest thing since Ronaldo and yet he has all the potential to become the next Pirlo, but ends up doing modeling and screwin' around with the paparazzi .

Well it's good that we're losing, put some sense into the FPF and their management.

Well we lost 3-2 it was a nothing game, but the youth can't get away from their club form...oh well, England at Wembley in the coming weeks. Last time we drew 1-1 with them, and we're the only team to have scored against England aswell and the only team that has really challenged them in our group.
