CELTIC target Marc-Antoine Fortune will decide in the next 24 hours if he’s bound for Parkhead or the Premier League.
Celts yesterday agreed a Ł3.8million fee with AS Nancy for the French frontman. The 27-year-old has now got to choose between the Hoops and going back to England's top flight. And it has now emerged that he could be joined in Glasgow next season by Nancy team-mate Landry N'Guemo. Nancy sporting director Nicolas Holveck said: "We have met Celtic and have formally accepted their offer for Fortune. "It's now down to the player to decide his future and I hope he can do this over the next few days." Hull, West Ham, Fulham and Portsmouth are all keen on Fortune, who played for Celtic boss Tony Mowbray on loan at West Brom last season. Mogga sees Cameroon midfielder N'Guemo as a direct replacement for Paul Hartley. N'Guemo, 23, was linked with a switch to West Brom last term and claims he'd love to play under Mowbray at Celts. He said: "Would I be interested? Who wouldn't be interested in joining such a famous club." Holveck added: "Landry is a talented player and one I know their manager was very interested in when he was at West Brom last season." Meanwhile, free agent Hartley has knocked back a move to Greek outfit Iraklis. Bristol City want him but Hearts have so far failed to follow up initial interest with an offer. Ipswich Town are no longer in the hunt.

Reports from Scandinavia suggest Celtic and Birmingham are interested in Icelandic star Solvi Ottesen.

Celtic Reach An Agreement For Nancy Duo Fortune & N’Guemo – Report - Goal.com
Celtic Reach An Agreement For Nancy Duo Fortune & N’Guemo – Report It seems that Fortune may move to Glasgow after all, with team-mate Landry N’Guemo taken in tow. 2 Jul 2009 16:23:30 Photo GalleryZoom EPL: Marc-Antoine Fortune, West Bromwich - Newcastle United (PA) Related Links Teams Players According to a report released by French sportspaper L’Equipe, Celtic have reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side Nancy to complete the transfers of Marc-Antoine Fortune and Landry N’Guemo from the Lorraine side. A combined figure of €7 million, which includes bonuses, is quoted by the Parisian-based publication for the ASNL pair. The Scottish Premier League side have been in the market for Fortune since manager Tony Mowbray made the move north to his former side West Bromwich Albion, for whom the French forward had enjoyed a successful six-month loan spell towards the end of last season. N’Guemo, a Cameroon international, is a combative 23-year-old midfielder, whose best attributes tend to be focused towards the defensive side of the game. Indeed, he only has two career goals in nearly 100 Ligue 1 appearances for his present employers. Having enjoyed increased playing time at the Stade Marcel-Pichot over the last season, N’Guemo had attracted the interest of lower-end Premier League clubs in the winter but will have the chance to experience Champions League football if he and Fortune can agree terms with the Glasgow side. Mowbray’s men start their European campaign in the third qualifying round of the European Cup, which they will have to negotiate along with a playoff round, if they are to reach the group stages of the Champions League. Progress in the transfer market has been slow for the Hoops, for whom this double capture would provide something of a boost. Robin Bairner, Goal.com
