Default I know how to stop Ronaldo!

Quote:
German keeper Jens Lehman said he knows how to stop Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo when the two sides meet on Thursday in the EURO quarter final.

"He (Ronaldo) is very pleasant to watch playing. My former colleagues in the Arsenal defense found a very good recipe to stop him," said the former Gunners goalie.

"I will not explain to you now how this recipe works, but I know how you can play effectively against him and I have already spoken to our defender Arne Friedrich about it."

The Manchester United winger scored four goals in Arsenal's net since 2005.

"Ronaldo is a player who can make all the difference," added Lehmann.

Portugal have emerged as hot favorites for this year's title while the Germans have struggled during the group stages.

"This team, unfortunately, has other good players, it is necessary that we are well positioned to avoid letting them get into positions to score goals," concluded the German goalie.
Doesn't seem like Arsenal found a solution when they played against ManU!!! Lehman is talking out of his *** again! He needs to concede 2 goals from Ronaldo to keep him quite! lol

Um... We'll see how that works out, I don't think Lehmmann expressed that to his Arsenal teammates.

Now watch Ronaldo go score a hatrick against Germany, I hope he does now that Lehmann has said this.

I know how to stop him! Just give him a lolly pop and tell him to suck it.

Just kidding he's a great player and pretty hard to stop.

.....Lehman doesn't know ****. I don't care if Ronaldo doesn't score, he's still going to walk all over Germany's defense

Lol. Arsenal knew best how to shut Ronaldo down. Especially, Clichy. In 06/07, he shut Ronaldo down at the Emirates in the Prem. He even forced Ronaldo to play on the left against Eboue in the second game, thats how well they marked him.

However, Clichy is better than both Friedrich and Jansen. So that won't be as easy for Lehmann and his compatriots.

Lehman, " I have a secret (insert giggle). And I'm not telling! (insert snicker) "

The end.

Just trip him over when he gets pass you, make it subtle though. Say some stuff to him off the ball, stir him up so he tries to headbut you or something But if you want to do it fairly, just go back to basics, watch the ball NOT the player! It's what all the proffesionals teach the kids.

there's 3 ways to stop him.

1. pray he slips
2. put 3 guys on him and hope the 2 open players don't get the ball
3. foul him before he gets into his FK range

snap him in ****ing half, 2 footed tackle straight into his knee, do this in the first few mins, if he tries to get back up go over and stamp on his lalalalalalalala and then stamp on his face. ok you will never play football again but atleast you can say you stopped ronaldo

1 way to stop him.

ALWAYS stay goal side and give him a yard of space so that you can catch the sprint or react in time.

If you play too close to him thats when he is dangerous as the turn or pace and close control really is impressive.

But like all players he has good games and bad games and isnt always perfect or on form!!

Wow - he's now officially the most overrated player in the Euros.

He's done next to **** all to be considered the "one to stop" - Robben and Van Persie looked far more dangerous than he has in just 30 minutes against France.

The one to be most wary of is Deco - been Portuguals best player and he's been the one pulling the chains, Ronaldo's now caught on the reputation that every team fears him forgetting their are 10 other players in the side.

Germany will just carry out the same, let Frings to the dirty work and Ballack go and express himself going fowards, they've got more than enough talent to beat the divers.
