They may influence their kids to play for England to have a better shot at a WC.
I’d rather Darren Bent start up front for England than a foreign players who has acquired citizenship.

But regarding offspring (Kasper Schmeichel for instance), then I’d have no problem with that. If they’re born here (or not) speak the lingo, are accustomed to this country (he's got a Manc accent ) and want to represent England then great.

surely the words Ian Wright completly destroyed any possible consideration of this idea?

These talks are always in favor when the English side fails miserably to accomplish set goals (no pun intended).

The truth of the matter is, that the Brits nationalism and pride suffers from a underachieving squad rather than a lack of star power. With that being said, the inclusion of other parts of the Union shouldn't be a problem- I never get how such a small part of realstate demands such pig headed virtual pride to the point of blinding them to fail to recognize what the United Kingdom actually signifies. The slight deflection of an accent is what truely seperates what maybe the true beauty of the British Isles. Language and Religion doesn't always cement culture nor blood.

I think showing the world solidarity says more about your country than exacerbating old tribal fueds.

A Great Britain team would mean an end to the world’s oldest international fixture (England versus Scotland).

Football is a tribal game whether people like it or not. Supporters like being part of a tribe. The reds and the blues, northerners and southerners, City and United, England and Scotland.

Football is very tribal, tribal instinct will always be there, especially in a country like Britain where it's alive and well.

how about do it like rugby, they have all the nations from Britain ( or what ever)
and you can still have a Uk team and a British team.
Just do it like rugby.

You're on!

As long as we qualify we'll do better than the US!
