Chelsea should have won but for one mistake: Why bring on Anelka when you have Shevchenko. I would bet Ł100 on him stealing a late goal to win it but I would be willing to lose Ł100. On the other hand I would bet every penny I have on him scoring the winning penalty, if he was taking it instead of Terry, which he would have been.
Spend all that money on the best striker of all time and don't play him when he could really make a difference. Shame on Chelsea. I wish Chelsea had won because I hate United but I only like Chelsea at all because they have Shevchenko, if he leaves I will go back to hating them but even more because of how they treated him. |

Sad that the media are still clueless about so things reguarding to the game. Like they called Cech's skull cap a hoodie on Sportscenter. Ugh, they seem to believe its about fashion or something.

This match was a crime against football. It was almost Italian style football. It reminded me of the final between Juve an Milan a few years ago.
No surprise Ronaldo missed. European football is killing any entertainment value in the game. I mean, they play with 7 defenders 2 midfielders and, if you are lucky, one speculative forward... Give me a break. People should watch Copa Libertadores on Setanta and see some real football for a change. No wonder the Big Euro Clubs go to South America to find talent. Then, they get that talent and negate most of their true value by making them play like robots in search of a result. Man Utd are champions, but nobody will remember that game, save for the shootout, or the players save for Ronaldo and Tevez who play a very different style of fooball than the rest of them. This Utd team will be beaten in Japan this year against whoever wins Copa Libertadores this season.

Ronaldo? Don't make me laugh, he never turns up for big games and this was no different. Yes he scored but can he play killer passes or create chances against a decent team? No chance.

Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry and someone else... Hardly the best defenders you could find. Tevez, Ronaldo, Rooney, Anelka, Drogba, Nani. Huge players, how can you say that they can't score more goals. My point is, when teams want a result, they turn star players like Ronaldo into machines. Ferdinand played poorly all night too. For the two best teams in the world, it was bad. Reminds me of Italy France in WC final. Anyway, you people in England must have Setanta, watch Boca vs Atlas, it starts in 5 minutes.

I have one thing to say to you.
South America almost always wins in Japan, and the winner of the Copa this season will do so.
