kris boyd to man city:

The Rangers striker has cut a frustrated figure for much of the present campaign, as Gers boss Walter Smith has often elected to start with his top goalscorer on the bench.

Boyd halalalala a remarkable 24 goals this season, despite limited playing time, yet still he remains a player that divides opinion like few others.

The Scotland international could well point to 50 goals from 54 league starts for Rangers - at Kilmarnock he netted 64 in 106 starts - but his critics harbour resentment at his lack of work-rate outside of the box.

It was suggested in the weekend papers that Boyd could be a target for City in the summer, but the hit-man is confident he still has a future at Ibrox.

allan mcgregor to spurs: £5million or there abouts for mcgregor who has been in top form this year, ramos could be set to raid rangers again after buying alan hutton in the summer

Neither of these will happen. Rafael will be going to Juventus or Valencia, and Arsene has already said he isn't looking at David Villa, but is flattered that he would consider Arsenal.

From BBC SPORT Football:
Quote:
Henry staying in Spain, say Barca

Henry has scored 14 goals so far this season for Barcelona
Barcelona have scotched rumours linking their striker Thierry Henry with an instant return to the Premier League.
The Frenchman left Arsenal for the Catalan giants in the summer, but Sunday newspaper reports suggested he could be on his way back to England.
However, Barca vice-president Ferran Soriano told BBC Sport: "I spoke with him (Henry) a week ago and he is happy.
"We are not doing well in the domestic championship, but he is fine and I'm sure he is not coming back to the UK."
Asked if Henry misses the Premier League, Soriano said: "Not at all."

606: DEBATE
Do you want to see Henry return to the Premier League?
Then quizzed whether he will remain with Barca next season, he said: "Yes."
Meanwhile, coach Frank Rijkaard's future at the Nou Camp remains uncertain after Soriano refused to confirm that the Dutchman would be in charge next season.
Rijkaard has been linked with a move to Chelsea, should the Blues dispense with the services of manager Avram Grant.
And Soriano said: "The fact we are not getting the results in the domestic league is the fault of everybody, but we are very happy with Frank Rijkaard.
"You can never say 100% (he will stay) because at the end of the season we're going to review the performances of the players and coach.
"I think he has no plans to leave Barcelona and go to Chelsea.
"We've decided not to talk about this until the end of the season because we are concentrated and very focused."

From THE DAILY STAR:
Quote:
BARCA WANT £20M FAB
13th April 2008
By Paul Hetherington and Harry Pratt

Your Shout
BARCELONA will make a £20million move for Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas in the summer.
The Gunners have always insisted they will not sell their Spanish starlet to his original club.

But it is understood that a new advisor to Fabregas, 20, has strong connections at the Nou Camp. That could be a worry for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Fabregas joined Arsenal five years ago. He is under contract until 2014 and the Gunners want him to sign a two-year extension, which would boost his pay from £50,000 to £80,000 a week.

But if they lose him it would be yet another blow to a side which crashed out of the Champions League at Liverpool last Tuesday and could see their faint title hopes being dashed altogether at Manchester United today.

It was stirring stuff to hear the captain telling the players that one result must not spell the end

A passenger on Gallas' rousing speech

One man who refuses to accept their season is over is skipper William Gallas.

He stood up and delivered a mile-high midnight rallying call to the players and Arsenal’s top brass on the plane home from their Merseyside defeat.

One passenger said: “It was stirring stuff to hear the captain telling the players that one result must not spell the end.

“He made it clear that no matter what happens this season, Arsenal are good enough to win major silverware in the future and that losing to Liverpool was not the end of the world.

“It was exactly what everybody needed.”

I can see Juventus but why Valencia? I don't think they will be pulling in any big names this summer.

Don't think that is correct, the statement about Sir Alex. I am pretty sure that he nearly has his perfect squad, and maybe he will want to add a couple of squad players to strengthen his squad. He doesn't really need any more "stars", and I think that he knows that.

Similar with Wenger. He won't really be looking at stars, because thats just how he molds his team.

But I don't think Grant knows better. He might believe that the only way to win is to buy big names, something that most of us realize is true. So I do think he wants these big name players, despite the fact that he won't get any.

I don't know about that though. If you think about it, SAF either develops his youngsters, or buys young promising players, and develops them into stars. Stars as in proven, world class players such as Eto'o or Kaka. I mean, if you look at his squad now, you see no actual "stars" when they were brought in, although, you could kind of argue Rooney, but he was so young. Ronaldo was brought in as a promising young player, but SAF turned him into the star he is. Nani and Anderson weren't stars before joining United, but now you could say that they are heading that way.

I don't, maybe he would go after a big name if it all worked out. I just think that it goes somewhat against his previous buys.

how about Hargreaves, Tevez, Evra. maybe he goes for the world class but has to settle for promising players, you cant know. but why would he not want a proven world class player if offered one (at the right price)

i hope he buys a top class striker this summer, we need one. the only position i feel we are weak in

get a top class striker (thats why i said he wouldnt reject Eto'o) and maybe a few back up players and we are done

Well, I can give you Tevez. He is world class. Hargreaves, you could argue either way, but he is a brilliant player. But I would argue about Evra being world class before he got to Manchester. Obviously now he is the best in the world, but I am not so sure about that before his transfer.

But I don't believe that he goes after world class players, but has to settle for promising players. He is Sir Alex, and he coaches at Manchester United, there could be no more incentive for signing there. I think that if SAF wanted them, and they wanted to play in England, then SAF would usually get them. But I could be wrong about that.

And I suppose he just might go after a world class striker this summer, since thats just about if for your squad.
