I'm not trying to insult you or anything, this is just a general observation.

When people say players are over-rated all i can think is that they actually think the player is good but just don't like him for whatever reason.

It's like me saying Raul is over-rated, i know he's a good player but i just hate him.

I haven't seen that many threads on this forum about the player? I haven't heard his name mentioned as numerously on television or in the British newspapers as much as other players.

i know exactly what im on about. you tried to say Pavlyuchenko was over rated and not as gd as keane, you tried to make out spending £12million on Pavlyuchenko was as much value for money as £20million for keane. all i was saying is how do you know this if most people have only see him play a couple of games, and can onyl go on reports from the press who as far as i know havnt made him out to be something special

No that West Ham fan said Keane was pricy for 20m and i said who i wud prefer i never said Pavlyuchenko was rubbish or worse than Keane.Just saying value for money........

but thats what euros and world cups do mate. if a player has a gd summer tournament then his value will easily increase by £5-£10million. it happens after every tournament.

Premiership football clubs have scouting networks operating across Europe and beyond. Just because you personally have only ever seen him play 3 matches doesn’t mean to say that his talent has been sported long before that. Perhaps his performance at Euro2008 was enough to persuade Spurs that he might be worth investing in?

Nobody is saying he’s one of the words greatest players, they’re your words trying to exaggerate as per usual.

Hand on heart I personally haven’t seen anything from the player other than what he did in Switzerland and Austria this summer, but from what I saw he looks a good player, whether he’s worth £12m-£14m remains to be seen but if Liverpool are willing to pay nearly £20m for a player he wasn’t capable of playing a full 90 minutes after Xmas last season or United nearly £25m for a player whose clearly not mentally stable then what Spurs are spending looks isn’t going to break the bank is it?
