Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to launch record offer for Olympique Lyon star Karim Benzema.

However, Fergie has now decided to make an offer which could go as high as £30m.

Ferguson knows Benzema is one of the few players who could make a difference and help take his side to the next level.

Thaksin Shinawatra is keen to appoint former Brazil international Zico. Who would you like to see as City manager?

Crouchy to see out Liverpool contract?

According to the Daily Star, Peter Crouch will be seeing out the one year remainder of his contact and then leave on bosman at the end of his contract.
Portsmouth, Aston Villa and Man City are rumoured to be interested in the want-away striker, but they might find the £15 million price tag too expensive.
There’s been rumours that Crouch will sit out for the remaining of his contract in protest of the £15 million price tag.
A source close to Crouch said to The Daily Star: “Peter’s been treated appallingly by Benitez.
“First there’s been the lack of games, then Benitez claiming Peter had been offered a new contract.
“Now comes this £15 million price-tag, which is ridiculous. The best option is to see out his last year at Liverpool and then go for nothing.”

Crouch SHOULD stay at Liverpool, if Bentitez was smart, he'd keep him but he'll probably leave for around 12m.

Real Madrid star Robinho has revealed he's received offers from Chelsea and Manchester United.

"I have never hidden away my wish to remain at Real Madrid, but if the interest is serious I will have no problem leaving Real Madrid as the interest from Manchester United and Chelsea makes me very proud," Robinho told the Brazilian press.

He added: "There are proposals, yes.

"One is from Manchester United which would be in exchange for Cristiano Ronaldo and the other is from Chelsea."

He's a wasted talent, in the same way Defoe was at Spurs. Now look at him , Crouchie needs a move out. Would help his England career aswell, in the same way Defoe's has improved.

If Hughes goes to either Chelsea or Man City, he'll be chucked out in a season max.

Look at how he has built up Blackburn, it isn't the greatest. But he did it. If he goes to a club where he has money coming in left right and centre. He will probably be good.

I can also seeing him being outed if he goes to Chelsea. They may aswell not have one, and just stick the players on.

Allardyce favourite for Rovers job - Various

Widespread reports suggest Sam Allardyce is geared for a return to football - should Mark Hughes elect to join either Manchester City or Chelsea. Should Rover plump for the former Bolton boss?

Fergie fancies Roque - The S*n

In what would be a double blow for Blackburn, Roque Santa Cruz could also quit Ewood Park, with Manchester United prepared to pay £15million to land the Paraguayan. Does this represent decent value?

But so did City - Daily Mirror

United face competition for Cruz from across the road, as Hughes would want to bring both him and David Bentley to Eastlands. Are City big enough to entice the duo away from Blackburn?

Carson to be a Baggie? - Daily Mirror

Aston Villa's failure to meet Liverpool's asking price for Scott Carson has alerted West Brom to his potential availability. Would the England man consider a move to The Hawthorns?

Fulham keen on Zhi- The S*n

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is pondering over whether to bid £4million for Charlton midfielder Zheng Zhi. Could the China international cut it in the Premier League?

Hull eye striker swoops - The S*n & Daily Mirror

Premier League new boys Hull are desperate to add a goalscorer to their ranks. Fraizer Campbell and David Nugent are both targets but the former's price tag could prove prohibitive and likewise, the latter's wage demands. Who should Tigers boss Phil Brown plump for?

Ronaldinho to City? - Dail Maily

Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra is ready to placate disgruntled supporters by luring Ronaldinho to Eastlands on £200,000-a-week wages? Would the Brazilian's arrival be welcomed?

Lamps' off to Inter - The Guardian

Jose Mourinho's appointment at Internazionale will see Frank Lampard quit Stamford Bridge for Serie A.
