Pachuca would have won if the goal counted

About time. Too bad he could not get any games before he left for the Olympics. But he should be a valuable asset when he gets back though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the score was: 2 - 0.

One goal did not seperate the winner from loser and by all accounts, Houston controlled the game, despite a bad call.

The better team won, this match.

Rukus-

Are you going to the Everton vs Chicago friendly tonight at Toyota Park? I purchased tickets this morning and will be heading down there in an hour or so.

Hokie, I wonder if you've heard whether or not Tim Howard is with the Everton side while they make this USA tour? Hoping he's available to play and starts the match, tonight.

I have not heard anything very concrete about his where-a-bouts. However, I do believe he might be in the States. Someone on my soccer team was down in Sea World in Orlando about two weeks ago, and apparently noticed Howard there with his family. And he spoke to him.

(And the guy on my team is 30 years old, so I have no reason to doubt him). So, I think he is here in America, and since his team is here, I assume he is back with them. As to whether he is playing or not, I do not know.

Is Chicago their only stop though? I thought I heard they were playing the Rapids as well. And is the game on tv?

I know the Barca v Chivas (Mexico) game will be on FSC, and that's being played at Solider Field here. I saw tickets to attend Barca's practice for $20.00 but I can't say I'd honestly pay for something like that.

I'm unaware of the match will be on National tv but I know it's on local tv. As for Everton's other stops: I'm not sure either. I do know they're making 2,3 or even 4 more stops before heading back to the UK.

did anyone else watch the end of the revs/atlante game?what a bunch of freakin bull lalalala. jay heaps got red carded after the game for baiting a player and chris albright got punched in the face by a staff member. this is why i can't stand mexican teams because of tonights game and yesterdays game they both lose and decided to go and attack the winning team.

Jees! The arbitrary job in the Semi-Final games of the SuperLiga was awful!

Pachuca got a disallowed goal which was clearly not offside and Atlante also would off had a break-away if it wans't for an incorrect offside. Also diving was plentiful in the game! And the referees fell for them all the damn time!

The referees need to know that it isn't a friendly match and that they need to get a lot better!

actually, during last nights game. someone from Houston provoked the situation by taunting a player from pachuca after the game was over, well thats what the commentators said, lol

I've got no problem with men settling things after the game, like men. As far as I'm concerned, the refs should leave the field, as their job title has ended at that point.

During the game, however, that behavior is unacceptable.

I haven't seen the highlights or lowlights, regarding someone recieving a red card after the whistle is blown but that's horribly ignorant, from either perspective.

What is there to settle after the game?

What do you mean by that?

we means he doesn't care if they fight or at least i think he does and he's absolutely right. no need to give a card to a player who got hit after the game is over. why not try to help come the place down, instead he made it worse.

I don't think he made it worse at all. In fact, if the Revs didn't have to worry about cards or suspensions, they probably would have reacted much worse, as would most teams.

yea i have no problem about that either. you could say the refs jobs' have ended, but i think it's still their responsibility for what happens, even if the game has ended.

Chicago 2 - Everton 0
- - -

Arteta, Yakubu (dude is built like a tank), Neville, Pienaar (played fantastic), Lescott & Howard played nearly the entire game - most left around the 80th minute. The other 5 I assumed were reserve players.

For Chicago: it was a healthy mixture, too, of regulars and reserve players.

*Busch made the start in the net
*Rolfe (that kid is really impressive) / Nyarko played fantastic up top
*Soumare & Conde played fantastic on the back line (quite possibly the biggest combo backs in the MLS)
*Blanco sat the entire game and with good reason. He played Thursday & Saturday night, with an up-coming game this weekend.
- - -

Random-Highlight: Two random Everton supporters jumped onto the pitch from their supporter section and ran laps around the pitch eluding security briefly to a the amusement of the stadium, before being tackled and arrested.

- - -
All in all, it was a great night. I sat in the third row at midfield, but there isnt a bad seat at all in the stadium. They made the official annoucement of McBride's arrival and paid a brief tribute to him on the jumbo screen during Halftime.

Also, I bought a ticket package with this game that included New York tickets in September, so the overall value worked out well, too.

I was gonna ask you if you were going but i wasn't sure if i was until like 3PM.
I had tix for 4th row Fire House but i sat in the 6th row midfield where there weren't many people. Yeah, Yakubu wasn't offsides.
