Lol, point taken.
Although it was some made up tournament of three teams to see who gets into the Champions League. And Montreal ended up on top. It was a pretty good game. Montreal had a couple of chances to end the game outright, and Toronto had a couple of chances to win it at the end. However, that means at least one USL 1 team will be represented in the Champions League this season. Montreal Impact is already guaranteed a spot, and the winner of the Charleston Battery/Seattle Sounders game could get in by beating the winner of the DC/NE in the Open Cup Final.

Yeah I knew exactly what you were talking about. I guess I was kind of defending them, although this was a fairly big game, so I suppose if there were any fans, they would be out and distraught over missing the Champions League. And I just realized I was wrong about there being two USL 1 teams in this years (2008/2009) Concacaf Champions League. If Charleston/Seattle win this year's Open Cup, they qualify for the 2009/2010 Champions League (which will start 1 year after they qualified for it). I hope the MLS will realize it will need to change the timing of its league. The Champions League will start in the late August, and end at the end of April. An MLS team will never win it with the current MLS schedule. They need an August to April schedule to compete in the Champions League.

New York Red Bulls Soccer Blog - New York Red Bulls
RB Fan of the Year ejected and banned for life. He'll probably get back in but this is why Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions has sections dedicated to these fans and sections that are family based. Even on ticketmaster it has a warning about what section you are buying tickets for. |

I read the article by Ives about the Red Bulls last game. Apparently. there has been plenty of problems between the fans and the security at Giants Stadium. According to Ives and many of the fans who go to the games there, the security staff just has a natural disdain for the soccer fans, and it shows in their attitude towards them.
However, the fan of the year being kicked out is not that big of a deal. He is just banned from Giants stadium. Once they have moved to their new stadium, he will be let back in, because the Red Bulls own that stadium, and will provide their own security.

The Dynamo will have a full squad for the game today. Holden and Ianni will play today and then leave for Olympic today. De Rosario and Onstad will also stay for today and then leave for the All Star Game.

DC -- Houston tonight.......... finally.
This game was started on June 4th, but was called off after 19 minutes because of rain (monsoon variety). They were then going to play last night, but the lights were off at RFK (reminiscent of the Chivas game a couple of days ago). So third time is the charm tonight. It will be DC United 2 -- 1 Houston

Houston is dominating the game so far. 1-0 so far at halftime.
Btw I heard the commentators saying that there are thunderstorms close to RFK. It is going to start raining in a few minutes. |

I was watching this game on TV but the broadcast was lost. It is just like listening on radio.
Sounds like it is raining hell over there. To quote the commentators " We may never finish this soccer match" |

Apparently DC United has until 12:00 am CT before the match is postponed.
Listening to the radio right now and they are accepting calls from the public about the game. Some of them are just plain stupid like for example: Why is the ball round? What does MLS stand for? Is it raining or what? What radio station is this? |

Lol, this is hilarious. I don't think this game will ever be played.
We should just get the three points.

They have until 1 am to finish the game. So they will try to wait it out.
But if not, I think it counts as a Dynamo win.

Lol.
Well the lights have gone off a couple of times at the stadium as well, and the water is supposedly draining right now, but it is still raining. Looks like we will be waiting until 1 to finish the game.
