Where did you sit for the final? I still have my ticket, i was in the upper deck, but we were behind the Houston fans, so we kept getting smoke up where we were sitting after they set off that smoke cannon.

Yeah, the only thing worse than that must be not watching your team in the MLS cup final.

that's true but all i have to do is go to rfk and look at the 4 mls cup banners that are up and some of it goes away. not to mention dc was the best team throughout the regular season.

It seems like almost every Galaxy game has at least 4 goals scored.

He is supposed to be back. He may be on the bench.

Given there roster set-up, that's pretty much the game plan and what was to be expected for LA to be successful this year going into the season.

I think it's fantastic the likes of Buddle & Gordon have really stepped up their games in recent weeks, giving some relief to the " Big 2 " and LA's shaky DEF/GK.

Question for everyone: Does anyone else think LA should consider trading Ruiz? Three reasons why, I believe, it would strengthen their team (addition by subtraction)
  • Ruiz is a DP, thus a serious burden on a salary cap already hosting two other DP's in Becks & Lando.
  • With removing Ruiz from the picture and trading him to a team in need of some offense who would in turn perhaps part with a " prospect " or some type of additional DEF help to add to a short bench in LA.
  • Ability / Cap space to go after the likes of Carlos Bocanegra (since the MLS may be a consideration if he isn't able to land a job in Holland, etc) and add his experience to an inexperienced and inconsistant backline.
Given the emergence of Buddle & Gordon, the above is why I believe they should part with Ruiz. Not to mention that in their first game together in the regular season versus Colorado, they seemed as if they were in each others way (Lando/Ruiz) more than an asset to each other.

Thoughts?

I'd have to see Ruiz on the pitch for a few games to make any comments on that. He got injured too early in the season to make any judgements on whether or not they should trade/sell him.

Typical Fire. 5-1 win followed up by a 2-1 loss. I'm unsure weather or not this season's teams are actually even or just trying to fail less than the others.

It's cool, you just got outclassed and overall dominated by us.

No worries.

Typical MLS, in general, too (this year). However, the Fire have had more up's than down's and I see them challenging for all three cups with the way they're playing.

Also, if they're able to land McBride...yahtzee!

I remember in this thread about elite American athletes playing Soccer, in favor of our other sports. Several names were mentioned from the NFL to the NBA. One of which was Kevin Garnett's...

Your wish has been granted: YouTube - Kevin Garnett Plays Soccer?

(he even has the Drogba celebration down)

Haha, he seems genuinely thrilled to be wearing the jersey. Nice. Maybe his freak of nature offspring will choose the right sport.

Sucks that I can not attend today's game.

Match starts in 1 hour. I predict a 2-0 victory.
