No because right now we're +4 on the goats anyway.

There are two games left in the league for you.

Both teams you play are looking to get into the playoffs. So basically they are playing just to keep their season alive, which completely changes things around mentality wise out on the pitch.

and we're playing for the league championship. At home. Twice.

And Chivas go to Dallas tonight then host Colorado then Houston.

Colorado will be a clinch, but both Houston and Dallas are fighting for positioning.

It's different fighing for just positioning than fighting just to play another game.

You will lose both games.

At the fortress that is RFK?

That is the equivalent of stating Jose Mourinho would have lost at Stamford Bridge to Boro and Wigan when they were level on points with United with 2 matches left.

Most preposterous statement Ive ever heard from your mouth.

DC United aren't even in the same caliber as Chelsea.

and RFK isn't even near what Stamford Bridge is to Chelsea.

Those are actually the preposterous statements.

Youre missing one key factor here:

The reason why we're 6 points from the league championship and Chicago and Columbus are 6 points from going out in the first round of the playoffs?

We're good, they're ****.

Why would all of a sudden 2 teams who are 20 points back from us surge up and win in our house.

Because they are fighting to keep their season alive.

Very simple. Changes everything. Chicago are going to give you the real trouble though.

I was being sarcastic. You got the point though.

DC loses at RFK (in big games too). Chelsea doesn't.

Actually Chelsea's last home loss was the biggest game of the season at that point.

Fighting to keep their season alive? That doesnt matter they have no quality!

We're playing in front of 20000 of our own fans for the Regular Season Championship. Call me silly, but i think we have a bit more motivation.

And you didn't feel any different with your performance output to keep the season alive?

Lets be real with eachother here Daniel. You did. Your whole team did. You fight harder.

Yes we fought harder.

But, my of my 2 varsity years, the first season we played the league champions away, and got raped 4-2. (was 4-0, 2 injury time goals). We tried hard, but they were superiorly better.

Senior year, we were 2nd in the league, and 1st place werent in our playoff division. So we were favorites, and superiorly better than most teams, and we won the region.

Point is we tried all we wanted to, so did the other teams, in both examples, the superior team won regardless of how hard either team tried.

The difference is, DC Aren't facing season elimination. The Fire and crew are.

And Chicago is a good team right now.

The added factors of Chicago and Columbus facing elimination do not even come close to the factors of our skill, home advantage, and drive for the Supporters' Shield.

You really think that one little thing can overcome everything stacked in our favor?

no.
