Do you think he'll go to Europe at the end of the season?

Probably. I never imagined that he would stay in the league for very long. 1 or 2 years max, but I can definitely see him moving on after this season. But nothing wrong with that of course.

He still owned by Deportivo Cali, if Seattle can sell him for 10M, that will be a huge boost for the MLS and my club as well.

But I think its just a loan. I think. Its not exactly known, but I think he goes back to Cali at the end of the season. And it would not surprise me to see them cash in then.

I've been hearing DC United had been making a move to sign Jairo Patiño, he also an ex Cali Player and still very good despite his age.

I have not heard anything as such of yet, but we have recently dropped two players, so we should be on the lookout.

I will have to look into this.

Not really the help you guys needed.

We dropped Anthony Peters, a defender. We now have two open spots in the roster, with Peters and Crayton gone.

It's an upgrade, right now Cepero and Conway are both back-up quality, thing about Cepero is he's young and has amazing reflexes, we can polish him to be our 1st choice in a few years, and until then Condul is a good fill.

Now just drop Ubipariovic, Rojas, Boyens, Smith...

Coundoul is a great step in the right direction for NYRB.

I've backed Cepero, simply because I liked the kid and thought he'd turn the corner but have yet to see it consistently.

Coundoul, imo, has potential to be one of the better 'keepers in this league and looks like a natural in the net in the games I saw of him (mostly last season).

As I said, not going to solve all the problems but it's a step in the right direction.

Excerpt from Grant Wahl's new book, soon to be released The Beckham Experiement: How The World's Most Famous Athlete Tried To Conquer America

Click

A didn't know a lot of whats covered in the excerpt, if it came out before I really didn't care, because I stopped caring about the Beckham saga long ago, but this book looks like a must-read, I think it's the first book on the MLS, I'll probably buy it.

Just those excerpts are great. Will definitely make for an interesting read. And I generally support the work of Mr. Wahl, which will make the purchase easier as well.

Good on Landon though for sticking up for his team. He gets a lot of stick -- and definitely deserved sometimes -- but he does have some fantastic qualities about him.

The book looks like a good read.

This to me, epitomizes everything.

*edit*

Went ahead and read the rest of the article. It's going to be a facinating look from the inside out.

Speculation/Interest is renewed from European Clubs: Soccer By Ives: French club makes bid for Soumare

Generally speaking, I'd hate to lose Soumare. I sincerely believe he and William Conde form the best back-line in MLS.

With that said, I think Chicago has been planning for this in recent weeks, on the pitch. Soumare hasn't played all that often of late (I believe it was due to his call ups with the Mali NT) and Manager Denis Hamlett has tried a variety of looks, that have all been met with rough patches of play & imo, poor results.

All in all, I'd hate to lose him but I'd happily support him as a man to get that chance. If it proves true, he's been a great player, teammate and represenative of the Fire in his time here.

Let's hope the transfer fee is a respectable one, too.

Alecko Eskandarian is going from Chivas to the Galaxy for allocation money.

Seattle - Portland, US Open Cup 3rd round today, the video can be watched live on USL's website, should be a good one.

Seattle - Portland, US Open 3rd Round about to start, line-ups are:

Quote:
Seattle:
GK Keller
D Riley, Hurtado, Ianni, Sturgis
M Nyassi, Vagenas, King, Levesque
F Le Toux, Jaqua

Zakuani and Ljungberg are here but not on the active roster. Montero is.

Portland:
GK Steve Cronin
D David Hayes, Cameron Knowles, Stephen Keel, Scot Thompson
M Brian Farber, Johan Claesson, Keith Savage, Taka Suzuki
F Mandjou Keita, George Josten
Portland fans look great, they have flares, smoke bombs etc. And a 20 ft. cut out of their mascot cutting down the space neddle.

EDIT: Nyassi cross to Levesque, 1-0 Seattle.

In Peru I caught a couple of MLS Games, this should probably go in the USNT forum but oh well too tired. In Peru the USMNT were HEAVILY praised for the Confed Cup, made me proud, even had the US Ambassador on joke about giving free Visa's lol, just thought I would bring that up.

We're making news all over the world, cool.

Seattle up 2-0 (King), some guy on SBI said this is the most attended US Open Cup game since the 2000 final.
