I'd rather have an empty looking Giants Stadium than have to travel to Newark. That city is a dump.
I think I was at that game, not too sure, seeing as I was probably around 6-7 at the time. I do have pictures of the first home game though, when the "curse of Caricola" was born .

Attendance will get a huge boost once RBA opens up.

If I can recall I went to the home opener of the Metro Stars second season.

And Caricola was in line right in front of me at the ticket pick up line. I was never so tempted in my entire life to talk trash to a player.

He was dressed in a gray suit and stuck out like I sore thumb. If he wasn't their with his family I probably would have said something.

I got to my 1000 posts here just before the thread made it to 4000. Sweet.

This game here seems destined for a draw.

Yeah, but, RSL is doing a fantastic job defensively. Robbie Russell has been terrific all night.

Good job Salt Lake, Toronto is the only team from the East so far that has taken 3 points, here's to Chivas beating KC.

Dang. Alonso is hurt and has been subbed off. I consider this detrimental to this game, no less if it's long term.

So they decide to score some goals while I am interviewing. Thanks guys. But thanks to Montero for adding to my fantasy team this week.

What would your MLS All-Star team be for the season up to now?

Well, if the voting stopped now, 8 of the starters would be from Seattle. Thats a bit off I would think.

KC has to play the final 8 minutes against Chivas down 2 men.

Thankfully the fan vote only accounts for a certain % of the whole thing.

If we didn't have Kasey Keller...it would be 10-1.

I was thinking about voting for Mac Kandji everyday, there are strikers better than him, but with the lax defense and open space of an All-Star game, and his skill on the ball, I think he'd put on a good show given some time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sakiewicz: Seedorf interested in MLS

Philadelphia Union CEO Nick Sakiewicz said he spoke to Clarence Seedorf in Milan and the AC Milan midfielder is interested in playing in MLS. But Sakiewicz _ whom I know some of you MetroStar fans remember fondly from his time as GM here _ dismissed claims by Glenn Davis, host of the Sccer Hour radio show in Houston, that Seedorf would be signing with the Union. Now, it wouldn't be the first time a team exec has rubbished a report that turned out to be 100 percent true....

....If he's serious about Coming To America, he's going to make some lucky team a great Designated Player. Do you guys think he comes stateside, or is it just idle talk? And if so, where do you think he lands? Philadelphia in 2010? Beckham's replacement in Los Angeles? Maybe in New York, since Juan Carlos Osorio said Red Bull will surely want to open the stadium next year with a big-name acquisition? As far as I know, he's under contract at AC Milan until 2011. That means to even come at midseason of 2010, he'd still command a transfer fee or have to get out of the final year of his contract. Like I said, it's just a rumor; but I mention it only because Mr. NIck went on record with it. Anyway, talk to us...

- Brian Lewis, NY Post

Interesting to say the least, Seedorf is a big name, and would attract more fans but if he's here to just pick up a check he can stay in Italy, or go back to Holland.

Yeah, I am not quite sold on Seedorf. Maybe he proves me wrong (if he decides to come over of course), but at the same time, maybe not.
