And you wouldn't need a long sleeve jersey, if you got off the bench.
Actually you'd need it more.

If you got off the bench and were playing, your body temperature would rise, hence not needing long sleeves.

What do they teach in Australia?

wouldnt you be warmer if you were running around though? I mean, sure you stretch and stuff, but you'd still be cold compared to the players on the pitch wouldnt you?

What? I've been saying that the players on the pitch are warm because they are running. The players on the bench are cold because they're not moving.

By get off the bench, I meant playing in the game.

I'll try not to make my sentences too complicated next time.

SO....not to take away from the MLS Playoffs or anything, but the Resignations of both Bruce Arena (from NYRB) and Frank Yallop (from LA-galaxy) has really opened up this thread for conversation.

Where do you think these two big market clubs are going from here? They both want "big name, marquee Foreign Managers"...but realistically, what managers can they attract?

Both clubs will have some major personnel changes. Is Donovan going to San Jose? Is Altidore ready for Europe? or will he stick around for one more year? What about Reyna (cough...flop...cough)? What about Mathis? Is Cobi Jones definitely retiring?
And how about an extra Designated Player slot MLS? I think it was last November the League announced the DP Rule (and new Youth Development programs). Should we expect similar announcements this year?

Thoughts....

I would just like some recognition for that from the media.

So if KC win, are they Western Conference Champions?

The MLS cup final should be the week before the final fixture. We should have one league, no conferences and at least 16 teams, who would play a home and an away leg. Champs would be recognized more, but the cup would still be exciting. We should have the USL teams come up to the cup like in other leagues. Definitely bottom two league finishes being relegated, with a structured Second division. Champions and runners up of the second division would come to MLS.

It's called the U.S Open Cup.

What I meant was there should be one domestic cup, and not cup games when the regular season is over.

What about the other points?

It's very difficult to have relegation with such a young league. Sponsers won't stick with teams who are relegated and alot of teams wouldn't even be able to survive. The league is too young for that still and isn't main-stream enough yet.

Your other point about the one conference have been discussed many times on here and most people agree.

And we already have one domestic cup that ends before the seasons over where USL teams also participate. it's called the u.S Open Cup. More people need to be made aware of it so it's popluarity can grow. It's the oldest trophy in all of American sports. The reason we have post-season playoffs is too attract more people to the game. Americans are raised on playoffs in almost every sporting event. I don't think there is anything wrong with having playoffs. I think the format needs to be switched up a bit though.

The real problem is we need to start calling the Supporters shield winners, the "champions" in general for the whole league instead of calling the MLS Cup winners the "champions" for the whole league. There has to be a distingushed difference and I think people will catch on. But I think the post MLS playoffs can still be exciting.

Good points, but I still think we can do a relegation system in 10 years time.

Good points Chunky.

No sorry BJK4LIFE...We'll never have a relegation system in America. The attendance, media attention, sponsorship money and general marketability of the 2nd league (currently USL) would have to be virtually as big as MLS for these owners to ever consider it. And I don't think that will ever happen.
