if we keep mascher and alonso, and sign a striker and a left mid we have the best 1st team in the league, and may well be favorites for the title

im not an expert on greek football but i thought he was an attacking mid?

i would rather we got more of an established talent to be honest, although i wouldnt turn us down signing some more hot prospects, but at the moment our academy and reserves are full to the brim of talent

he has been the captain of Pan... and they made the Round of 16 in the Champions League

Also I think he is primarily a right winger, however can use the left flank or the center.

still, its obvious that the greek league isnt exactly world class, and i dont think he could start for us yet. i would be happy if we got him, dont get me wrong, but i would prefer a winger who is proven in a big league

Mata and Villa are reportedly on there way to Barca according to Marca yesterday.

I think if we go for a winger it will either be Silva or Afellay, striker ermm... maybe someone like Lavezzi or Negredo.

More financial fears for Liverpool FC co-owner Tom Hicks

LIVERPOOL co-owner Tom Hicks could be forced out of one of his American sports teams, as reports in the USA claimed his financial position is becoming increasingly acute.

Hicks is owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team, but it has been claimed that Major League Baseball, the sports governing body for the USA's national sport, has been forced to step in and loan Hicks millions of dollars in the last week to pay his players.

“He won’t be running the team much longer,” a source said.

“Major League Baseball is helping him through this until someone else can be put in place to run the club.”

The latest news comes on top of reports that the Hicks Sports Group defaulted on an interest-only payment on a $525m loan to his US-based sports operations.

The report is unlikely to affect the refinancing of Hicks and George Gillett's LFC loan with Wachovia and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

But it highlights the increasingly precarious financial position Hicks finds himself in.
