I think they all do support a local team, they just give their support to us as well, which is benefiting us, as they could just have no interest in us..

[EDIT]I do agree with you, but not to the extent that you are saying.. They are 'armchair fans', and I'm sure those lads are decent enough to admit it, but they are helping to benefit our club, even if it's a little contribution, they all help..

The thing is we do support our local clubs. Our league only started in 2004. No-body used to watch the old NSL because it was corrupt. I grew up watching english premier league on the TV because we barely had football in this country. Your local team at the time was the one you played for...

So we knew about Liverpool before we did about our local team. It's not as if we are just going to stop caring about Liverpool because we have our own team now...

Dan your practically saying what I'm saying mate, see what youve highlighted there is not a true supporter and thats what am saying.

Question: Do these foriegn supporters Know and feel for the club like me and you do Dan?

Do they have a special bond and connection with the club like us local fans do?

Answer them truthfully.

See your saying you support 2 clubs? You support 1 club and 1 club only thats how it is, thats not true a true football fan supporting 2 clubs, If i asked someone who they support and they said Ohh errrr Liverpool and Melbourne I'd just stand there and be thinking is this guy serious.

See this just strongens my point even more, that just somes me and you up in a nutshell, the difference between me and you is ' There's only 1 club that belong in my heart '

oh aren't you a romantic...

What's wrong with supporting two clubs when they will never face eachother...

It's like saying i support the Brisbane Roar but i also support Taringa Rovers (the club i actually play for). Two teams but i still love them both. One plays in the A-League, the other only in the Brisbane region.

Liverpool are my number one team because i was a supporter of them before my local team..simple

Smith in your opinion is it ok if you support 1 club and follow 1 or 2 more? Just that I recently chose to follow Toronto FC of the MLS. Is this fine by you or am I now less of a fan of Liverpool?

1) I have no idea, they may have a great understanding of the club, but they may have their reasons to support the team that we don't know..

2) I do agree with the second one, as there is a special bond when supporting your local team, but they could still have a bond to the team that we can't understand.. If you understand what I am saying..

Anyway, moving on, looks like Gillett has managed to sell the Montreal Canadians (?), which could help our financial predicament, and help service the loan repayments.. So, it does look like they are in for the long run.. Happy?..

Am not saying use guys can't support the club am just saying imo use don't have the feeling and connection that we local lads have with the club, and use didnt like being told that and use was shocked to hear a few home truths because no member has ever come on here and said that, so use immediatly formed your little group and got and got your sheild out and tried to drive me out the thread.

No member has come on here and spouted so much bulllalalala before. Formed our little group? Where have I once said about AnfieldG8? I'm sticking up for myself here man. Same with him.

Ok i agree with the first two lines but there are special connections we feel that you local lads won't. It's a feeling that I can't personally explain but i get a massive buzz when i flick on the telly late at night. (and yes i am an "armchair" fan, but there's nothing i can do about it) I just wish you guys could experience what we do so you could understand what i'm talking about.

I think Dan has grasped somewhat of an understanding of where we are coming from but as fickle as it may sound, even by watching it on the telly, we get extremely excited on game day.

If my local team were as successful and popular as Liverpool i would be extremely chuffed that people all over the world were interested in them.

It's not as if I'm going to steal your seat for the matches every weekend. You have a divine right to those seats being a Liverpudlian. All i ask for is a little respect.

It's a feeling that I would never want to get either, because for the simple fact, you can never top the feeling that us local lads get who go the match.

Walking down istanbul that night, sunset, ground in sight, heart pumping 200miles an hour taking deep breaths, thinking I'm about to step into the Champions League Final us Local lads supporting our local club on the biggest stage of them of them all infront of millions watching around the world.

Those are feelings you'll never get.

There wouldn't be millions of fans watching around the world if it weren't for fans like me.

I also get that feeling with my local team. Not to the extent of the champions league (well maybe one day in the Asian champions league) but it's that same feeling.

No it won't and I don't expect it to but I'm just writing what I firmly believe mate.

It's like you support Millwall your local club, the team and place thats in your blood, there's not a feeling like it, you just can't explain it to foreign fans who support someone who thier team is half a world away from them, do you get what am saying?

Brisbane Roar, we were known as Queensland Roar last season but two new teams from Queensland are coming into the league next season.

We were one win away from qualifying for the asian champions league last year...absolutely gutted. I couldn't even watch it because I was in England at the time
