I didn't realize our net spend was so low. Comparing the squad he took over from Houllier and the squad now, it's unbelievable that he's only cost the club 83m for such a drastic improvement.

It's not impossible to play on the right if you are left footed, and same vice versa. Fullback is a problem though, not many players can pull it off effectively, your tackling leg is out of place, when you support the front men you'll have to cut inside. Arbeloa isn't one of those fullbacks who can pull it off week in and week out unfortunately. Maybe the odd game here and there, but not every week. Especially when there is Aurelio, Insua and Dossena who can go there.

Agent: Juve face Dossena dilemma

Andrea Dossena’s proposed move to Juventus depends on the Italian club dropping their interest in Lyon’s Fabio Grosso.

That is the opinion of the Liverpool left back’s agent Roberto Florio, who says the Italian club must now decide between the players.

“At the moment there are no new clubs involved. Juventus must still decide whether to focus on my client or Grosso.

“That is what is slowing Dossena’s transfer from Liverpool to the Bianconeri.

“If they decide to focus on my client then we will certainly consider it.

“He is happy at Liverpool, but Juventus is Juventus.”

Dossena arrived at Anfield from Udinese last summer but failed to cement a spot in Rafa Benitez’s side.

The Italian has reportedly been deemed surplus to requirements on Merseyside with Benitez preferring Brazilian Fabio Aurelio and upcoming youngster Emiliano Insua.
