All this talk of Owen??, people saying he would be good backup for Torres, he wouldn't be good backup, what the hell is that about, he wont play enough to get his full fitness back and he will never be as good as before, Liverpool came second in the prem, surely they should be aiming a bit higher then a guy who was probably 3rd best striker at newcastle.

The point is it's a free transfer, and therefore we wouldn't lose any money.

Yeah but alot of fans want Owen back to have one last run at the club that made him. I personaly don't think he will be able to play top level anymore because of how old he is now. The injuries he has had over his career have caught up with him which has resulted in him losing his pace.

I was thinking about our striker situation, what about Scott Mcdonald from Celtic?
He plays his best with another man next to him (Torres) or with someone running off him (Gerrard). He still has a contract with Celtic for another 4 years or so but I don't think he'd be worth too much. Thoughts?

Staying with the Australian theme...
Lucas Neill will become a free agent on June 30. He can pretty much now play anywhere along the back four and when he's in form, not much gets past him. However I don't think he'll be interested in a move to Liverpool with the whole Carra situation. Just another possibility though.

Yer it would be nice but i want the right man for the job. Lucas Neill is probably too slow and not very attacking minded. Although he did score one goal last season
I think Scotty Mac would be a decent addition to the squad. He has scored against Manchester United and AC Milan in the champions league so he has proven himself for a move to the premiership.

I honestly haven't seen much of Macdonald to be honest but from what I have seen/heard, he looks alright!

Owen was their joint top scorer this season.. He has the best shots to goal ratio, which means he takes the chances he gets (and I have said that to you so many times already).. The point is also he is a free transfer, yes, he may not be as good, but I think that having Michael Owen on the bench would be a great option for us..

That's a risk we have to take, he's a free transfer, which would allow us to spend in other areas of the team.. He might pick up injuries, but his experience would not just help us when he is fully fit, but it will also help the young players coming through into the first team.. He'd be a great buy..

The guy who turned us down for more money a west ham? Last thing we wanna do is sign him absolute lalala of the highest order, not to mention he's Awful and is also a very dirty player.

Wouldnt touch him with a barchpole.

Missed a sitter against us when it was 1-0. Could have turned the game and probably would have got you three points, the way we collapse under pressure.

Probably.. But he did provide assists in the earlier games which won us a lot, so we'll probably call it even..

But still, it wouldn't have made a difference, we can't win at the Riverside, which makes me kind of glad to have seen you go down..
