UEFA TIP YOUNG RED FOR STARDOM Jimmy Rice 19 May 2009 ![]() UEFA have named Academy ace Christopher Buchtmann as one of their top 10 stars of the future. The left-back, who turned 17 last month, was one of the standout performers as Germany clinched the European U17 Championship on Monday. Buchtmann has also impressed in helping Liverpool Under-18s reach the FA Youth Cup final. The official UEFA list is as follows: Patrick ter Mate (Netherlands) - Vitesse/AGOVV Academy Cutodian Janick Kamber (Switzerland) - FC Basel 1893 Marc Muniesa (Spain) - FC Barcelona Dennis Appiah (France) - AS Monaco Marco Fossati (Italy) - FC Internazionale Deniz Herber (Turkey) - FC St. Pauli Christopher Buchtmann (Germany) - Liverpool Jack Wilshere (England) - Arsenal Lennart Thy (Germany) - Werder Bremen Luc Castaignos (Netherlands) - Feyenoord Think we'll see this lad much in the pre-season? |

Hopefully, he's been very impressive.. Not sure if he will get as much playing time as some of the other youngsters..

I hope we get to see him and quite a few youngsters given a run out. I'd like Hammill to not be sent out on loan this year too, I think it's about time he was given a few games. Especially with what looks like the departure of Anderson permanently. =[

Pre-season should give a lot of the young players a chance.. I'm looking forward to seeing some of them get a chance.. Hoping some of the reserves get a run out at Anfield next week..

Nice put down mate. I've been hoping to get some tickets for the match on sunday but its so difficult to get since you need to be a season ticket holder to have much of a chance. Would have loved to go to anfield to see us finish the season. Are you scousers confident? We are looking for the treble over you (remarkably) so theres a chance. I'm hoping your lot don't take it too seriously and we can get a win for 7th but i suppose Benitez will want to finish undefeated at home. |

i hope we give sami the captains armband against spurs for his last game, will be a sad moment to see a model professional like him leaving. hopefully he'll be back on the coaching staff soon. i was thinking about the formation we could play if we got tevez or villa (i know im dreaming) and i came up with this: ----------------Reina----------------- Arbeloa---Carra---Agger---Insua--- --------Mascher----Alonso---------- ---Gerrard------------------Riera--- -----------Torres-Villa/Tevez------ gerrard would be in a free role with license to roam from the right wing (if you watch kuyt he does this himself), and villa/tevez would play just behind torres, like what gerrard plays now but with less defensive duties. we could revert back to our formation for this season, with tevez/villa on the left wing (there both experienced in that role) against top teams, but the team i put up there would have no trouble breaking down defenses. i have a funny feeling we are going to see david villa in a liverpool shirt next season, there is no speculation surrounding him at all, which means that someone is probably in talks with valencia over him, and the same goes for silva. i dont know why, but i really think we are going to get villa this season.

I hope we do, that formation would look amazing.. Maybe it will happen, Valencia aren't in the safest financial position..

if they are both at valencia at the end of the transfer season i will be extremely suprised, if anyone does not know how bad valencias financial position is they are trying to sell their stadium to write off some of their debt. i think they are also owned by a agency now, who are trying to keep them alive, which will mean a massive clearout of alot of their players, which will definetly mean villa and silva, aswell as albiol and possibly mata.
the possiblility of villa and torres up front literallty makes me need a cold shower. that would be our best striker-force up front since the ian rush-aldridge combination, and it could even eclipse that
