We beat them 2-1 at Nou Camp
Chelsea have beaten them plenty before...the only thing thats gonna allow barca into semis is not drawing an english side on friday

the only team that have even remotely as good players is manchester united...and they are not good in europe...


well maybe liverpool can beat them, it would be nice to see two spanish teams facing eachother

not too sure about that actually...milan play more tactical and have got better defenders (fit defenders) than inter, and they are always more successful in europe...

i think that inter did fit liverpool's play better than for example milan would have...

no, but they are a better team now...players like aquilani,tonetto and taddei have been 10 times better than previous seasons...and totti and de rossi have been amazing as usual this season...

chelsea...drogba lampard...anelka bought in..im not even gonna attempt schalke or fenerbaches team...so bascially roma are a top side but the other aaprt from schalke and fenerbache are btter

roma have bought some new players, like cicinho,giuly,esposito and juan...but really the only one who's impressed is juan and maybe cicinho...all the others have been quite poor...


but yes i guess the other teams are better, but i don't think they should be expecting an easy win...

Inter captain Javier Zanetti does not feel his side have anything to regret following the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool tonight, which eliminated his team from the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri were beaten at home by Liverpool (1-0), after once again going down to ten men following the dismissal of Nicolas Burdisso, who was given two yellow cards.

"There's a lot of disappointment," he said, "because we controlled this match and we had the chances to re-open the qualification. Then we were reduced to ten men and everything became more difficult. They had the luck of scoring those two late goals in the first leg, while for us it was difficult to play to European games with ten men."

On Inter's continuing Champions League struggles, he said: "I think the mentality is there, also in European competitions, but that doesn't mean we don't need to improve. Now we have to focus on the league and winning the Scudetto, then we will draw up the balance.

"We went out this time, but we could just as well have continued our European experience. In this competition the teams you meet don't forgive you. Tonight unfortunately Burdisso was sent off while the team was doing well. I don't know whether the two yellow cards were right. In the first half we had the best chances to get back in the race to qualify, but we didn't take them."

On the referee's performance: "Perhaps more yellow cards should have been shown, because they often interrupted the play, we are disappointed because we played well but didn't manage to pull it off. It's always better to lose but to give everything and not have anything to regret, as we have done tonight."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic thinks Inter were very unlucky in both defeats to Liverpool, who qualified to the Champions League quarter finals at the Nerazzurri's expense with a 1-0 win at San Siro tonight.

galleria zoom At the end of the defeat against Liverpool, Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic looked clearly upset as he commented on the match which sealed his team's elimination from the Champions League.

"Tonight we were unlucky just as we were in Liverpool," he said. "Twice we had a player sent off and I think we could not have done more in terms of effort. We created some good moves but we were unlucky up front, we continued to play until the end but we didn't manage to win.

"Now we must think about the league and the Coppa Italia. We did all we could, now we have less matches ahead and we can focus entirely on our two remaining objectives. We are still a very good team on a European level, but we don't have luck and without that in this competition you don't go far."

His concluding statements were on the Golden Ball trophy: "I'm not thinking about that, now I have to be concentrated on our objectives for this season. Only like that I can go forward."

nah, i don't see manchester united winning the champions league...really the only english team i can see winning it is liverpool...

arsenal are too young and not that well organized, but when their play works it's like a mini barcelona...

manchester united just always seem to choke in the champions league the last seasons...

chelsea have a bad coach...i mean anelka on the flank? come on...

liverpool on the other hand have a good defence and players that fit their style of play well...and their play works very well in europe...they have also got a good coach, and as we saw in the inter game, they can play tactical and just play on the result in the previous leg...they have also many variations of play and can bring in other players to change the game..like for example to bring in crouch and play with pennant and babel on the wings and just cross the ball on to crouch...

RAFA: TORRES WILL GET EVEN BETTER
Paul Hassall at the San Siro 11 March 2008 Rafael Benitez expressed his delight at seeing his Liverpool side book their place in the last eight of the Champions League and revealed that he expects goal hero Fernando Torres to continue to terrorise Europe's finest defenders. The Spain international took his tally to 26 for the season with a typically stylish goal to see off Inter Milan in the San Siro and secure a 3-0 aggregate success, and the Reds boss is convinced more is to come from El Nino.

"We have a lot of confidence in him (Torres)," said Benitez.

"He is a threat for defenders that is clear.

"We are really pleased with how he has adapted to the Premier League and we are waiting for more goals. 26 is good but he can get more. He is a player with a good mentality and wants to improve every day."

Liverpool survived some early scares to go on and secure an impressive 1-0 victory over Roberto Mancini's men and Benitez felt the key to his team's success was the lead they secured at Anfield in the first-leg three weeks earlier.

"We were controlling the game at times but had some problems and they had two or three chances. But we had one or two on the counter attack too," he said.

"We knew the first game would be important. Today the idea was to compete, counter attack and we knew we couldn't make mistakes. So I am really pleased with the performance of the side in both games."

The win means Liverpool are now in Friday's draw for the last eight of the competition and the Reds boss feels they have as good a chance of going all the way to the final.

"We have a better squad than before (in 2005), so you never know in football," he said.

"In the first year I was here no-one thought we could win the final but we did. For me the important thing is for the team to be in the Champions League every year."

The Reds' triumph means there are now four sides from England left in the competition and Benitez feels that the statistic speaks volumes for the Premier League.

"The top four in the league are amongst the best teams in Europe," he continued.

"We all have really good players and that just shows the power of the Premier League.

"I do not mind who we face in the next round, I will wait for the draw and enjoy now."

Meanwhile Inter boss Roberto Mancini rocked the post-match press conference by declaring that he would see out the final two months of the season at the San Siro before leaving the club.
