we beat them on September 13th this season. tbh it would be stupid if Gerrard started. try kuyt behind torres if he is fit, or if he isnt fully put kuyt behind ngog.

we are a big team/game club... that's why we do well in Europe vs the best, lalalala in the FA Cup verse lower league, well against Manchester + Chelsea (9/9 points) and lalalala against lower teams (2 draws vs Stoke...)

I don't give a damn about Liverpool! Voronin rules out Anfield return
By SPORTSMAIL REPORTER Last updated at 1:54 PM on 09th March 2009

Threesy does it: Voronin hit a treble at the weekend

Andriy Voronin has ruled out a return to Liverpool after demanding that Hertha Berlin sort out his future in the next three weeks.

The Ukraine striker is enjoying his loan spell in the German capital and scored a hat-trick against Energie Cottbus on Saturday to send the team to the top of the Bundesliga.

The 29-year-old was linked with a return to Anfield after Robbie Keane rejoined Tottenham in January but he told Bild: 'I'm not interested in whether they (Liverpool) have noticed how I've been playing. I score goals for Hertha – not for the English side.

'I don't give a damn what they think of me back on the island.'

Hertha are desperate to keep the player but general manager Dieter Hoeness admitted they may struggle to find the funds.

He said: 'I hope that we can find a solution. Of course, there is a risk that clubs with greater resources will now come in for him. The timescale is a problem.'

Voronin added:'I want a decision by the end of March. There have been a lot of enquiries from other clubs. If it takes too long to sort something out with Hertha, I'm going to talk to other clubs.'

He doesn't seem to know what ownership means. Let's take him back and stick him in the reserves for the rest of his contract. Although the money would be nice.

Felt sorry for him when we was banging them in from all angles in pre season yet never really started a game in the league or cup. To add to the embarassment, N'Gogs above him in the pecking order.

What a shocking attitude to have.. Hope he leaves, I've defended him in the past, and wanted him to come back as he's a fairly good back-up.. But now he can leave..

N'gog has proven he can handle the big time and can only get better, where as Voronin is old fat and going down hill.

So guys, great result.

Hopefully we saved some goals for United and can carry on from this.

Mascherano was awesome.

The first time I've said this - Kuyt was probably our worst player tonight. Quite a few short passes, misplaced passes and so on, but in saying this, he still had a pretty good game.

Spearing, from what we did get to see, he only had a few moments in his time on the pitch, looked very comfortable, which is great. Promising young lad. Only question to ask is how will he cope in a game that's not so comfortable? That's upto the future.

Only time will tell, and these next few seasons are critical for him. Didn't know he was so short though, looked tiny when the camera was on him XD

So who do we want for the quarters?

I would love to have Villareal or Bayern. Depeding on tomorrows results, I wouldn't mind Porto either.

A great well deserved result for Liverpool. If you were to go on to win the competition it would be great to say you beat Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield along the way.

Although Real Madrid were embarrassing to say the least. Their defending was abysmal in fact i think I've seem Championship sides defend better, and that made me feel bad for Casillas who saved Madrid from further embarrassment.

But you can only beat what's in front of you and Liverpool certainly did that today.

no it doesnt

throughout the season when they've been out injured or something we've still managed to do just fine without them
