Infact 90% of our team would be slower then Mendy.

I am also sick of Dossena being blamed for everything. He isn't the other 3 defenders and he isn't in the team to score goals.
Glad somebody agrees with me.. He is not a poor defender, and his recent performances has shown his improvement.. He had a slow start, but many players have in the past.. He was not at fault for either goal at the weekend..

OK so maybe I was being a little over-critical. but he is certainly the weak link in the team.

No way.. The majority of the games he's been poor in, the goals have come in from the other side or through the centre.. People are quick to label a new player a weak link..

The main thing is that he's improving..

Yeah he is improving. I'm pretty sure that if we had a fit Aurelio, he would get the nod in front of Dosenna 9 times out of 10.

Something I got told yesterday. Is Dosenna the Italian's first-choice left back?

Good to hear. Apparently Scolari had 3 kidney stones. Ouch.

Another poor result for the reserves

Played better today with the likes of Insua,Pacheco,Spearing and darby back in the squad. Spearing could of won it at the end if he shot had'nt of hit the post

I think that it would be rotated between the two of them.. One of them will leave soon, and it will probably see Auerlio..

I think he's played a few games, but isn't Chiellini their first choice?..

Arsenal VS Liverpool should be a good match as both do well against the other top 3 sides.

Hmm...only time will tell. For Liverpool's sake, I hope you're right about him.

I'm confident in him, but I also think that Aurelio is a good player.. So I'm not as worried about them as some other people are..

One of them will make way for Insua soon, and as Dossena joined in the summer, I don't think it'll be him..

Exactly. IMO he would have been the second best defender we had on the day. Arbeloa first of course he was stellar out on the right.

Only problem with Arbeloa is his crossing, never really puts many quality balls in often..

Martin Skrtel returns to full training - Liverpool FC latest
DEC 17 2008 EXCLUSIVE BY TONY BARRETT, LIVERPOOL ECHO

LIVERPOOL have been boosted by the return of Martin Skrtel to full training.
The Slovakian international has spent the last two months on the sidelines after suffering a knee ligament injury in the Reds’ 3-2 win at Man City.

Skrtel had been in outstanding form alongside Jamie Carragher at the heart of Liverpool’s defence before injury struck. In his absence, Daniel Agger and Sami Hyypia have taken it in turns to fill in alongside Carragher with neither able to hold down a regular starting place.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is adamant that he needs four top class centre backs to give him the competition for places within his squad that he is looking for.

Though Skrtel is able to join in with training with the rest of the squad he is unlikely to be considered for the trip to Arsenal at the weekend, particularly as he is still to get any competitive football under his belt.

A more likely date for his possible return is Boxing Day when Liverpool face Bolton at Anfield.

Since joining Liverpool from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, Skrtel has become a cult figure with fans thanks to his uncompromising physical style.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Arbeloa believes Liverpool have what it takes to put their recent troubles at home behind them and go to Arsenal and get a good result.

The Spanish right back is well aware of just how difficult it will be to get a win at the Emirates but insists the Reds have nothing to fear having beaten fellow big four members Manchester United and Chelsea this season.

“We have a difficult game against Arsenal but we believe in ourselves. We can get a good result,” he said.

“We have beaten Manchester United, Chelsea and now we want to beat Arsenal.

“We have a really good team and I don't think they are playing their best football at the moment, so we have a good opportunity to show what we can do.”
