Ok...

...it's not like I care; he's not class at all, but I just wish he'd stop devaluing himself so we can get something for him.
No you know what I mean.. If he's drinking, he isn't (I hope he isn't anyway) stupid enough to drink the bottle or even most of it.. He's still in his free time, hasn't got a game for about a week, and probably won't play then.. Why can't he have a drink?.. Who's to say he's gonna have most of it anyway?..

As I said above, the only real reason I sort of care is that he's making it more difficult to recoup any of the money we invested in him...

Yossi needs to play in behind the strikers, it's his best position.
I'mm all for lettin both him and Pennant go but we need to bring in two quality players at the same time.

I don't think so; I think we can get away with just picking up a winger.

Hopefully we can pick up enough cash from the two of them to get Kuba from Dortmund.

I think that we've got a few lads in the reserves that would do well with a promotion.

Heck, I think that El Zhar can fill in for Benny Onion.

No doubt El Zhar cna fill in, but we don't need players who cna fill the holes, we need players who are improvements on what we already have, El Zhar will get there, but right now he isn't.

Ummm...duh.

El Zhar is better than Yossi, and one solid winger is loads better than two awful fringe players (read Yossi and Pennant).

Martin Skrtel eyes festive return for Liverpool
James Ducker

Martin Skrtel, the Liverpool defender, believes that he is on course to return from injury in time for the busy Christmas schedule. Skrtel has been out of action since the beginning of last month, when he damaged the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Liverpool's 3-2 victory away to Manchester City.

Although a date for his comeback has yet to be specified, Skrtel expects to be available during the festive period, with the Slovakia centre back eager to be fit for Liverpool's visit to Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League on December 21.

“I don't know exactly the date [I'll be back], but the predictions were for before Christmas and I am hoping it is as soon as possible,” he said. “It has been a long time. I can't wait to start kicking a ball again and resume full training. The injury is much better. It has been six weeks since the injury and I have stopped using crutches, but obviously I have work to do in order to get the ligament back to what it was before.”

Skrtel expects, however, that he will have a job on his hands trying to force his way back into the team, with Daniel Agger and Sami Hyypia impressing in his absence. “Daniel and Sami are excellent players and they are playing well,” Skrtel said. “It will be difficult to get back into the team, but I am working hard and will fight for my place back.”

With Fulham to visit Anfield on Saturday before further league games against West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers and Hull City, Liverpool will be expected to take maximum points from their next four matches and maintain their impressive start to the season. But Dirk Kuyt believes that Liverpool, who are level on points with Chelsea at the top of the table but behind their rivals on goal difference, could come unstuck if they allow complacency to creep in. “I have heard people say that we are now playing games that we should win,” Kuyt, Liverpool's joint top scorer with seven goals, said. “If your attitude is right and you prepare properly then you have a better chance of winning, but it is not guaranteed.

“It isn't always possible to play at your best level in every game, but that is what we must try to do against every opponent. It doesn't matter whether it is a game against a team from the top or one from the bottom, if you don't get it right, you can have problems.”

Nah..

Yossi is better than El Zhar at the moment.. Who would you rather have in a massive game?.. El Zhar or Benny?.. Soon Nabil will be better than Yossi, maybe next year I'd see him ahead of him, but at the moment I don't think he is..

Voronin's move 'about money'
by Laurent Picard, 20 November 2008

Andriy Voronin would not be against a transfer from Liverpool to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, but the Ukrainian does not want his wages to go down.

The 29-year-old is loaned by The Reds to the Berlin outfit until the end of the season, and could sign a permanent deal with the German side next summer.
But Voronin understands money is the sinews of war, and the Ukraine international is not prepared to make concessions.

“Of course money is very important,” Voronin told Bild. “I am not a 20-year-old kid anymore, anyway I have a long career ahead of me.

“If Hertha want to keep me, an agreement is possible.

“The aim remains qualifying for the Uefa Cup, which would be a massive success. But of course everyone wants to play Champions League football.”

The forward then commented on the German league and said: “It is much slower and full of cry-babies compared to The Premier League. In Germany you can hear the whistle, but in England you are already bleeding.”

I still think he's a good player.. He was really unlucky last year; he started really well, until he picked up little injuries that disrupted any run of form..

However, I don't think he is Liverpool quality, but he was only bought to be back-up, and he was.. He did his job, and wasn't as bad as people make out..

There is talk that we will offer Leverkusen Voronin and cash for there in form german striker Patrick Helmes. I would prefer us to sign Alvaro Negredo though. He has been on top form this season for Almería and is still only 22.

GERRARD RULED OUT OF FULHAM CLASH
Paul Eaton 21 November 2008

Steven Gerrard has been ruled out of tomorrow's league clash with Fulham - but Robbie Keane is fit after recovering from a shoulder injury.

The Liverpool skipper - who was forced to pull out of the England squad for the midweek friendly in Berlin - could return for next week's Champions League showdown with Marseille.

"He is improving but it is still too soon for this weekend," said boss Rafael Benitez today.

"He is still working with the physios so he will not be fit for this game. He might be available for Wednesday but it depends on his progress. Hopefully we will have him back for the Marseille game."

Keane, meanwhile, will be available for selection after shaking off the shoulder problem which forced him to miss Republic of Ireland's midweek friendly defeat to Poland.

"I think he will be okay," said Benitez. "He was training today so he should be fit for the game.

"Some of the players who have returned from international games are a little bit tired, but I think most of them will be okay for this weekend."

Benitez was also relieved to see Fernando Torres for once emerge unscathed from an international break, with the Spanish striker on target in a 3-0 victory over Chile.

"I am really pleased that we had five players in the Spanish national team and Fernando did very well in the time he was on the pitch, scoring a good goal. He was sharp and that's really positive for us."

I don't want another striker at the club.. I think we have enough already.. I'd rather us get LB and a RW..

Helmes is only 24 at the oldest if I can recall correctly.

Bale and Kuba is all we really need in the transfer window. Anyone agree?

I'd take Bale, and someone out wide. Maybe Ninis? The incredibly young Greek, he's quality.

Yer he'd be good and we would have a chance of signing him. Kuba will be more likely though, we have been linked with him numerous times. Can you imagine the commontators trying to saay his name?
