I`m skint mate Wont be going to another Liverpool game until at least after chrimbo.

Even if i had the money i would`nt waste it going to stamford bridge. The atmosphere there is lalalala. Last time i went we were shouting over at your lot and the best you could do back was wave your plastic flags singing blue is the colour

The atmosphere is lalalala these days, right, but did you go in ancient times or something? No one sings that unless it's played on the tanoy. Just out of interest, where abouts where you sitting?

You're one to talk though - Anfield is the most overrated ground in the world. The media and pundits have hyped it up to a point the majority of you actually believe it's "special".

Especially on European Nights yes Anfield is the best in the world. Would much rather Anfield than Stamford Bridge where the crowd is silent until one of your 100,000 a week 'superstars' scores. The quiet again...

Chelsea Fan: Your ground is lalalala!
Pool Fan: No yours is!
Chelsea Fan: No way!
Pool Fan: Yes way!

YAWN! Who gives a toss? Naturally, we each prefer our own grounds. Can we find something a little less stupid to slag each other off about now?

Let's choose a proper topic then...

Like the fact that we have more European Cups, more League Titles, have just as many points in the league with a fraction of the budget.

..ya know...something less subjective.

Lets be honest - who'd listen to you? You live the other side of England to Liverpool, what makes people think you've been anywhere else in Europe to make that? I know... the media.

lalalalain churn out the same old bollox about it. Anfield is not all it's cracked out to be, I don't expect muppets like you to agree with it, but i've been there plenty of times over the last 17-18 years of my life to know it's nothing special at all... Speaking of which, when was the last time you went to SB? The atmosphere isn't all that great these days, but it's just a little bit different to listening to it on your TV screen.

I live 1 hour away. Hardly the other side of England is it Thought you might know your Geography by now

I do love it though how you happen to know where everyone has gone in the world yet you bang on about going here and there. Its not like i chose to not live in Liverpool was it

Unless you Mystic Meg shut your cakehole.

I was at Anfield in the Kop for the game against Man Ure, and I was also with a mate at the Bridge for the same fixture sitting in the Harding end with a mate, and for that particular match, the atmosphere was better at Anfield.

To be charitable though, I don't think that that was the best example of what the place can be like, and I do enjoy going to games there very much.

I was seated in the shed lower tier. And a group of your fans were clearly singing that, i have a few mates who went with me that day who can back that up. Maybe you haven't been in a while

I'll be the first to admit the atmosphere at Chelsea these days is extremely dull in comparison to most other grounds, gone well down hill since 2005, one too many foreigners in there with their cameras and the stewards have become a bit too petty - but there are times when it does spring into life, like these so called special atmospheres at Liverpool, last season when we played them in the semis it was rocking... notice how the media never picked up on it though....

It's just one of the many reasons I loath Liverpool. Media bang on about how great Anfield is, neutrals and scousers believe it... media bang on about how great "captain fantastic" Gerrard is, scousers pop a vein when someone bad mouths him... It's almost as if they pride themselves on little things like that, to comfort themselves for not winning the domestic title for going on 20 years now.

I don't believe for one second you were shouting at the Chelsea fans and their replies were "Blue is the colour", just doesn't happen bud. Unless it's on the tannoy, it's never sung, especially if rival supporters are spewing abuse at them... or you were mouthing off the kids?

Ah well, i'll be there Sunday, lets see whose got the last laugh then.

It seemed like it was really quite nice for that tie last year. I was disappointed when my mate's dad wanted to go; otherwise, he and I would have gone with his tickets.

I hate to break it to you, since I'm sure you're already aware, but the London papers and the fans of the London clubs give and get the same treatment.

No harm done though.

I might be able to go to that match. If you see a red in a Carra jersey in the middle of the season ticket section of the Harding end, that'll be me.

To be honest I really don't know how to take you anymore. Read a few posts of yours and thought you talk sense and bring up some good points. But over the past week or so from what I have read, you've just been slagging Liverpool. I don't really get why, either. There are a few idiots on here who talk a load of lalalala, but you can seem quite knowledgeable, then go on spouting a load of bull about how everything at Liverpool is over rated.

Just get over it.

Haha so true!

Leeds United are so much better than Liverpool and Chelsea, and Ronaldo is a greasy diving playboy

I'm not the first geezer - those on here who've actually been to Anfield will probably tell you the same, no use you getting worked up over it, the media do make it out to be something it's not, and as far as Gerrard goes, that's personal opinion - I think he is overrated, another thing, you need to learn how to distinguish the difference between me saying Gerrard is utter poo and Gerrard being overrated... it doesn't mean I think Gerrard's a rubbish player.

It's hypocritical to say the least though - you lot bang on about how overrated Lampard is, how overrated Terry is, how overrated we are as a club etc... don't like it when the boots on the other foot though.

To be honest, I think that Chelsea is probably about the best club that money can buy, and I don't see us making huge strides to knock the top two off of their horses until we have our own billionaire who is actually willing to spend money on the club.

Not being a fan of Liverpool plays a part, I mean if I went to the Bridge the chances are after the game I'll say the atmosphere at Anfield is better, same with any other stadium. The majority of fan are quite obviously Liverpool fans, so we are bound to enjoy it alot more. It's hard to talk as a nuetral when you're not. There are some games that the atmosphere is dampened admittedly, but it's the same for any other home ground.

Onto the second part of that, where have I said you're saying Gerrard is rubbish? I haven't. I'm not going to begrudge for being of the opinion he's over rated, it just gets boring and tedius when I'm seeing it constantly.

I can't speak for anyone else, nor can anyone speak for me. Some people may say Lampard or Terry are over rated, but myself personally, you won't find me saying that anywhere. All I have said in regards to that is my opinion of Gerrard being the better player than Lampard. That's not calling Frank over rated, so there's no hypocrissy coming from me with this. A while ago I would've gone on about Chelsea "buying" the premiership title, but now my views have changed and it's been accepted that alot of football these days will come down to money, so there's no use holding a grudge.

If I started slagging off Chelsea, you'd defend them, and the same vice versa, it'll just go in circles all the time, which is one of the main reasons why it does bug me, there's not really much point in it because it won't end because we'll always have a point to make. So in my eyes I'd prefer to just drop this and leave it, we're under different opinions, it's no big deal.

Both grounds have pathetic atmospheres nowadays when you compare them to what they used to be. Anfield though, is heavily overrated and the only time they'll be singing properly will be on a European night or against Manu/Everton/must win game at the end of the season, and come one, that's basically the truth. Ive seen a trend though, that top 4 teams might have have the worse home support, but our away support is better than the rest of the prem, whether or not it is because we have gloryhunters living in every town, i don't know, but every top 4 team has good away support.

Chelsea have always had good home support better than most clubs, it's only since being taken over people seem to think we just sit there, though we do get a lot of tourists, we still sing(at times) still far more than Arsenal and Tottenham though.

Even watching Boro vs Chelsea, i don't think i heard the Boro supporters sing more than 2 songs and the Chelsea supporters didn't stop until the end of the game. You will always find the better half of your club support is going to away trips.

Anyone that denies Anfield is overrated needs a boot up the backside. It kills me to know that kids as young as 6, not just in England, but around the world, are growing up with the mentality that Anfield has the greatest atmosphere on the planet. This is just absolute disrespect to other teams around the world in Eastern Europe, South America and even Japan who have amazing support and never stop singing.

I never said the atmosphere at SB is better than Anfield's if you think that's what I was implying... but having actually been there plenty of times, I can form my own opinion, and I don't buy into the media and certain individuals saying how great it is.

Certain individuals like Masch roam this forum dropping seeds of irritation in every thread they go in trying to wind the Chelsea fans up, when it's the other way around, they'll act like the victim.

Difference between people saying Lampard is overrated to Gerrard is the fact he's not very well liked at all in this country, just have to look at the boos and jeers he gets when he plays for England, but i've gone through this before, tedious as lalalala, no one bothers listening. I'd still defend Lampard if people were saying he's overrated then... but I wouldn't be so naive enough to start calling other people stupid or deluded for saying it.

Nah never though you were implying that, just bored of seeing the whole "over rated" thing lately, that's the only thing that's bothered me really.

As I said earlier, I can't speak for anyone else so there's no real response I can give for the most part of that.

The most boring thing about it all is just the fact that everyone just ends up repeating themselves in the end. Just rewording something they've already said. Starting to put me off this section of the forum, only things I'm really going to be talking about here from now is just Liverpool team news and stuff along those lines, save the debating for other forums that have an older userbase.
