I think everyone played well, Kuyt and Keane worked thier nuts off to get the ball, Carra & Skrtel were great as ever, Masch was superb after the manc goal, chased every ball put in some hard but fair tackles, Riera really suprised me, looked brilliant today, so yeah basically everyone played well & got what they deserved.

I liked Babels celebration. Does the point to the sky.. and then it sinks in, and he goes wild

RAFA: LET'S TAKE SATURDAY'S FORM TO FRANCE

Rafael Benitez believes Liverpool's defeat of Manchester United this weekend will give his players the perfect confidence boost as they prepare to kick off their Champions League campaign.

The Reds travel to France on Monday morning ahead of their first match in the group stages of the competition against Marseille at the Stade Velodrome.

And Benitez is delighted to have seen his side hit top gear after an indifferent start to the campaign.

"We could not have asked for a better boost to our confidence than a victory over the best team in England, and the European champions," he said.

"Now we will go to Marseille in a good frame of mind. That was our best performance of the season and we now feel we can go into a Champions League game in good heart and spirit.

"We are still unbeaten, but we had not been at our best. The victory against Manchester United has changed all that.

"We have made a statement about our form in domestic competition, and the victory will not go unnoticed in Europe.

"We did it without Torres and Gerrard, and we will have to wait and see how they are for Europe.

"We have a few training sessions now before the game in France, and both of them have been improving all the time."

I can see Raf easing up on Torres until the derby match.Possibly play him against Marseille see how he does but rest him for the Stoke match.

We need him in the side because Kuyt and Keane wasted far to many chances yesterday.

I'd like to see Babel on the right from the start even though Benayoun did a good job against Man Utd.

benayoun played relly very well....

but if torres is able to play against marselle he should be in initial XI and dont play against stoke...

i am really very excitant with this team without torres and gerrard....

Keane has turned into Kuyt. Runs everywhere, doesn't score much/at all. Not having a dig, he is a great and talented player, but we needed a top class striker to either go alongside, or to be back up for Torres, and have ended up with another Kuyt.

I hope he proves me wrong in the upcoming weeks though

Just curious.
Have you ever watched Keane in previous seasons?

Yes, which is why I'm hoping he proves me wrong and returns to the way he played at Spurs

Hopefully Torres will play some part also, whether it's 90 minutes or 20 minutes.

What do you think about Aurelio at left back? I thought he played a blinder against the Mancs

Hmm...I really hope I'm not the only Liverpool fan not to rate Dosenna.

I think Rafa might stick with most of the same squad as Saturday, except for Torres starting

NO FABIO FOR REDS IN FRANCE

Fabio Aurelio has been ruled out of Liverpool's Champions League Group D opener against Marseille on Tuesday night.

The Reds touched down in the south of France on Monday lunchtime following a 90 minute flight from John Lennon Airport as they step up preparations for the start of their European campaign for this season.

Rafael Benitez has brought an eighteen man squad to face a Marseille side who are currently unbeaten in the French league and lying in second place after five ganes.

But Brazilian defender Aurelio - who excelled against Manchester United at the weekend - has been left behind on Merseyside to nurse a minor calf injury picked up during the 2-1 victory on Saturday.

Javier Mascherano has travelled though, despite limping off at the weekend, while Lucas returns to the squad after arriving back from international duty.

Liverpool squad: Reina, Cavalieri, Arbeloa, Degen, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Dossena, Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard, Benayoun, Babel, Lucas, Riera, Kuyt, Torres, Keane.

There goes my hope of him playing in France

I would of liked to see the same team as saturday tomorrow tbh even if Gerrard and Torres are travelling, I think that team is good enough to beat Marseille and a bit more rest can't hurt them both.

He just stick Dossena at LB and keep it as it is.
