I agree that we probably don't need a left winger, that's why I would like Benitez to try sign Joaquin but Babel does seem to prefer his right foot alot of the time.
Already had my say on Quaresma lol, he's more suited to Italy anyway. |

Voronin should leave anyway (and will do in the next yr 1/2 i bet *summer of 2010 i reckon). . . No reason Kuyt should be back-up, so that should be enough reason NOT to persue Quaresma. Everyone seems to forget Babel. . . Yet hes like a Thierry Henry, 10 yrs young.

If Valencia lose Villa to either barca or real, then i am not sure they'd release joaquin. . . though, that would be a better signing than quaresma

I think Quaresma could be a great player for us. He's played champions league, and he's been a champion in the portuguese league. I'm sure there were a lot of people who said Nani or C Ronaldo would not have performed in the premier league due to being flashy. But how wrong were they? There were also many fans skeptical of spending that much cash on a certain spanish striker named Fernando Torres.
Quaresma has what we so desperately need. He also has what the owners seem to be interested in. He's young, would sell tons of merchandise if he performs, and has supreme resale value. What the team needs is a natural wide player that is creative, pacey, takes on his man, can take a set piece, and has great crossing and passes. From what I have seen I think Quaresma fits all those categories. |

And as for the Quaresma thing, that's because little kids look up to these players because they get so much publicity and are so called big names and great players. Why do we want a showoff and a play actor coming to Liverpool encouraging the young kids? Plus how much would this prat cost us compared to other good wingers? |

As, for the whole kids thing. This signing is about football and winning No.19. The kids can make up their minds if they like Quaresma or not. I want someone that can help us win trophies. Quaresma would have to be atleast 20 million pounds. He has a 40 million euro release clause in his contract, but Porto are rumoured to have lowered their asking price due to Quaresma's increased desire to leave. He has the potential to be world class. And there's no doubt in my mind that he would be able to adjust to the premier league. And there are NO other wingers of his ability level available. |

I agree about where Espanyol can stick that 16m. I would rather us sign a Right winger anyway, I know Babel likes to come on his right foot but he still looks comfortable on the left when he's played there.

the reson i said we need a LM is because we have El zhar, Kuyt, Pennant who can play in the RM position, but the same cant be said for LM, we have Babel who id like to see play more of a striker role but we need a player that is great in that position not a player that has played as striker for the majority of his career. The ideal situation is signing a player that can play any side like a Joe Cole, but you dont see many of them.

I keep hearing different things about this guy. I've heard that on his day and in good form he can be one of the best wingers in europe. But he needs constant attention from the managers too play well apparently. If he's been capped for Spain recently then me must be a good player. we're already looking like we have some good depth in the squad. So hopefully this man can give us what we need out wide. maybe its possible for one more signing? who knows what Rafa has up his sleeve. |
