You dominated for the first 25 minutes of the first half. After that it was fairly level. The second half we were all over you, the only thing lacking were balls in.

You defended well in all fairness, but we out played you in the second half. You spent most of the 45 defending. You were nowhere near the better team. I'm calling this without bias even though I'm a Liverpool fan, you played well first half and defended really well throughout the 90. But from the half hour mark onwards, Liverpool dominated possession. We should've had a penalty instead of the freekick (the ref didn't even wave for advantage when Gerrard was brought down, and then blew when Benyanoun was, doesn't make sense) then Keane got in the way of Torres for a tap-in, then Torres made Gordon his lalalala.

Liverpool were the better team. Take your Tyne goggles off and see the truth.

It wasn't what I'd call Premiership champions form... well not in the class of play anyway, as most better sides would have gone to town on you... although you did dig out a 1-0... Torres: the new Ronaldo?

Sunderland is near Tyne And Wear right? So how is my comment ignorant?

Is calling Liverpool "Scouse" ignorant? No. Is saying "river mercy googles" ignorant? No. It's placing where you are on the map.

You were the better team for the first half hour, after that, we dominated posession. What we lacked was width and crosses. With that element sorted we'd be a much stronger team.

The fact that you're adding swears to your "insult" type of thing just shows your aggression, when there's nothing to get aggressive over. We beat you, we deserved the victory, accept it.

As for Gerrard whinging, what about Diouf and all his shirt pulling? Then complaining like a little kid when the whistle was blown for it?

1: The chances you had came from Diouf, which Reina was all over.
2: We should've had a penalty, but the ref gave a freekick.
3: Torres should've scored but Keane got in his way.
4: Torres scored a great goal.

It wasn't a lucky victory. We dominated possesion through the last hour of the game, you spent most of the 90 on the back foot, trying counter attacks after loose passes. Alonso nearly scored another super long length goal after Gordon got caught out. If you had tucked away one of your chances during the first half hour then maybe the entire game would've been completely different, but you never, and Liverpool got themselves into the game and dominated. As I said, the only thing lacking was width and balls into the box, with that mended we'd be alot better.

You had good chances, but Liverpool played alot better than Sunderland. This is clear fact.

It sounds like both West Ham and Liverpool were lucky today. I was at the West Ham match, and I was ashamed for the whole second half. Longest 45 minutes of my life. Started so good as well. Anyway, I was reading about the Liverpool match, and it sounds like Sunderland were unlucky not to get a point, and Liverpool were lucky to get anything. No one is denying the class of Torres though

You guys are insane, it was the first game of the season. Sometimes you have to win them in an ugly fashion. We got the 3 points. That's all that matters.

And Keane is going to have a fantastic season. Its crazy to write him off from just one game.
