If we sign Barry and Keane I think it'll be more likely to see this formation at the start of the season. -------------------Reina---------------------- Degen-------Agger------Carragher------Dossena ---------------Masch----Barry----------------- -----Gerrard--------Keane---------Babel------- -------------------Torres---------------------- |

Adios Voronin, Hola Barry?
Newspaper speculation suggests Benitez is ready to sell Voronin in order to finance the Barry move. The long-drawn out transfer story involving Gareth Barry has taken another twist today. Press focus has shifted back toward Liverpool, with the Daily Mirror suggesting that the Anfield club are ready to offload Voronin, in an effort to raise funds to meet Aston Villa's valuation of their captain. The midlands club are holding out for £18million, and refuse to settle for anything less for their number 6 who has been with them since 1997. The sale of Voronin is likely to bolster Benitez's kitty with an extra £3million. With Peter Crouch's Portsmouth move also granting Liverpool an added £11million, they may be able to land the man they deem perfect to partner Gerrard, in a three-man midfield anchored by Mascherano. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will be assessing his squad over the next few weeks as his side see through their pre-season regime. On Saturday 19th July they face Wisla Krakow, in Poland. |

If the Voronin idea is true, then we really have no backup strikers.
If we do get Barry, a 4-3-3 might be nice with Barry, Masch and Gerrard in the midfield with Babel, Torres, and Keane up front.

Wait liverpool cant afford £18m? i thought the only reason you lot werent buying Barry for £18m was because Rafa didnt think he was worth that much i didnt know it was because Liverpool couldnt afford it

it would be lovely if we were to buy Keane and so Spurs had to reject bids from Man united for Berbatov because he would be the only decent striker left there. It would kinda be like hitting two birds with one stone.

Anyway, i kind of like Voronin, but if it means that we'll have Barry in the squad then ship him out. I like the idea of Barry and Gerrard working together. Barry is quite versatile and can play several positions, which is good for rafa and his wacky rotation policy. Barry, Gerrard, Torres, and Keane together that'd be quite nice wouldnt it?

I was just listening to sports talk radio and they were discussing the Texas Rangers baseball team. Which, for those of you who dont know, is the team that George Hicks owns. The guy on the radio station was saying that he was one of the richest owners in baseball, in the top 5.
Well what ended up happening was that some angry texas rangers fans were calling in and saying that Hicks, despite being one of the richest people in baseball, had done nothing to bring in quality players to add to their roster. ...where have i heard that before? |

Ha, I wonder if his Hockey team says the same?
So we're getting reported to the premier league Oh no! Bitter that we want your player? I really do hope we sign him now, just so I can laugh at Spurs' owner the big **** head.

It's a situation now where the 'smaller' clubs believe that the 'bigger' clubs have the advantage.. So they are now trying to 'do us in' at every oppourtunity, MON raising Barry's price because it is a Premiership big gun, or this..
It's ridiculous.. |

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs have agreed a fee for Robbie Keane, according to reports in The Daily Post.
They claims that the clubs have agreed on the £20million transfer fee with “various add-ons and incentives”. Benitez has publicly declared interest in Keane to replace Peter Crouch who has linked up with Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth. However, Tottenham have just lodged an official complain to the Premier League over Liverpool’s behavior in the transfer window. Spurs Chairman blasted Liverpool for ‘prising’ away their player. Levy said; “The behaviour of both clubs has been disgraceful. We told both clubs very early on that we had no interest in selling Robbie or Dimitar and that they should refrain from pursuing. Both clubs arrogantly chose to ignore this request and we now have evidence that both clubs have systematically been working to prise the players away from us, outside of Premier League rules of conduct.” |

Rafa Benitez is determined to end his summer of frustration by landing Robbie Keane in a £18million deal.
The Liverpool boss has made Tottenham striker Keane his top target after being knocked back repeatedly in his attempts to sign Gareth Barry and wants to seal his capture in the next 48 hours. Benitez has been encouraged by Spurs manager Juande Ramos' admission that he needs to balance the books. The fee is the only sticking point as Keane has already made it clear that he wants to move to Anfield. |
