I hope Daniel Pacheco gets some minutes in the Tranmere game. He's going to be one of our best reserve players this year for sure. We literally stole him from Barcelona where he was the best player in their U17's.
I'm also excited to see Plessis play, he did impress in the Arsenal game. I also really want to see Lucas flourish this year. He's very highly rated in Brazil. it would be fantastic if he could get a starting role at some point this season. |

I read that rafa would have to contact Voronin and Gerrard and see how they are if they want to play in the game.
Maybe they are a little unfit? But Rafa also stated he wants to use a large amount of youth in his game so he can guage their talents. |

Rovers ready Pennant raid - Daily Mail
Blackburn boss Paul Ince is keen to sign Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant as a possible replacement for David Bentley. I think that could be pennant plus money for bentley coming to us ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gunners to hijack Barry bid - The S*n Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry, who wants to join Liverpool. If this is true, i think rafa will pay the 18 mill because he knows arsenal will pay more if they have to |

![]() Liverpool have received two offers from ‘rival’ Premiership clubs for Scott Carson according to The Liverpool Echo. Funds from Carson’s departure will be used in an attempt to bring Robbie Keane to Anfield. Plenty of clubs are in for the England international but not many are willing to match the £10million price-tag. However, it’s believed that the offer received is lower than the £10million valuation. Stoke City, Aston Villa, Celtic, Fulham and West Brom are reported to be interested in the ‘keeper.

i never said Voronin was a QUALITY backup..i said a good backup is someone who costs less. im glad you're not manager if youre willing to spend millions on sum1 to sit on the bench

Did you think the 18m we'd get from both those players would all go on Keane? Stupid. ![]() Name a club who wins the leagues in Spain, Italy and England who doesn't spend millions on players who don't play every game. I'm all for signing good players cheap but you have splash the cash often enough to keep you upto standard with the top of the comp. Voronin wont keep us at the top of the comp if Torres goes down and Voronin sits there. |

Keane wouldn't start in that formation. I assume you know Rafa rotates? Keane would get plenty of games, and he's better then what we've had recently outside of Torres. Keane would sit just behind Torres and hopefully the linkup would work well. I don't want Keane for alot of money. |

Hopefully we will get to see some of the reserves lads like paceho and Darby get a run out today
shame about Nemeth being away on international duty he would of been a defiant starter

this is the starting line up
Fit-again Daniel Agger is joined by debutante Daniel Pacheco in the starting line-up for this afternoon's first friendly of the season at Tranmere - a match you can watch live here on Liverpoolfc.tv. Agger, who has recovered from the metatarsal problems which ruined his season last year, will be partnered by Jack Hobbs in the heart of the defence with Jamie Carragher likely to begin at left back. Spanish youngster Pacheco will make his first appearance for the Reds in a forward position where he is likely to be joined by Yossi Benayoun, with Jermaine Pennant, Damien Plessis, Lucas and Emiliano Insua operating in midfield. New signings Diego Cavalieri and Philipp Degen are joined by skipper Steven Gerrard among the substitutes. 13 Martin 2 Darby 6 Hobbs 5 Agger 23 Carragher 16 Pennant 7 Plessis 21 Lucas 22 Insua 15 Benayoun 11 Pacheco Subs: 1 Cavalieri 4 Hyypia 3 Skrtel 19 Degen 20 Kelly 12 Aurelio 8 Gerrard 14 Spearing 10 Voronin 9 Flynn |
