![]() Juventus are refusing to confirm they are still chasing Liverpool's Spain international midfielder Xabi Alonso. The Serie A giants are looking to bolster their midfield options this summer but have stated they will not rush a decision on who to sign. Although the Old Lady have a healthy budget to spend this close-season to reinforce Claudio Ranieri's squad, they have yet to agree a fee for Alonso. "We have never named names. It's an important decision and we'll consider it at length because the final choice must be within our budget," Juve's chief officer Jean Claude Blanc told the Italian media. Right time "We spend the right time evaluating players. It will be an investment of between 10 and 30million euros (£8million - £23.7million). "We will talk things over at length with Claudio Ranieri and his staff." Although Alonso is being hotly tipped to move to the Stadio Delle Alpi this summer, Ranieri has more than one name on his midfielder wanted list. "There are more than two names we are considering to strengthen our midfield," explained the former Chelsea tactician. Improve the side "We will choose the player who gives us the best opportunity to improve to this side." Juve have reached this season's UEFA Champions League qualifying round after finishing third in Serie A and Ranieri wants his troops to make the group stage of the competition. "We are really keen on making the Champions League proper," he continued. "For this reason we must immediately overcome the preliminaries. Serie A will be surely competitive too." |

![]() The agent of Diego Cavalieri has claimed the Palmeiras goalkeeper is close to joining Liverpool. The Brazilian shot-stopper, 26, has made over 100 appearances for Palmeiras since beginning his professional career in 2002. It now appears he could be on his way to the Premier League with Rafa Benitez looking to bring in cover for Jose Reina. According to Cavalieri's representative Juninho Parmigiani, the player is to travel to England this weekend to finalise the deal. Juninho told gazetaesportiva.net: "Palmeiras' board released Diego to negotiate with Liverpool and we are going to fly in to finalise the last details. "We still cannot say that everything is closed because there are some things between Liverpool and Palmeiras and other details in the contract. "I believe everything is going to be resolved this weekend. "If everything goes as it was agreed, he is going to sign the contract." looks to me as if hes well built kind of like reina YouTube - Diego Cavalieri O sucessor

Ajax have just put a 20 million pound price tag on Klass Jan Huntelaar. Apparently he wants to go to Man Utd. But we should sweep him up. For that price its a steal.
I think itd be a much better idea than Keane or even Villa. |

have you had a look at his goal scoring for ajax? He's a better striker than Kuyt when he was back at feyenoord and has played well for the Netherlands team. Although Keane is premiership tested, for the same price of 20 mil, i'd much rather have Huntelaar.
