------Silva-------------Barry----------------Babel----- -----------------------Gerrard------------------------ -----------------------Torres------------------------- that's if you don't get Villa. If you do get Villa and you still want Mascherano and Barry playing then i would just put Villa next Torres and play with 3 defenders. That's the best i could come up with

SKRTEL HAS FOUND HIS MERSEY PARADISE
Martin Skrtel claims he is loving life in Liverpool – even though there is no escape from Kopites in the city. The Slovak international arrived at Anfield from Russian side Zenit in January and has since proved a massive hit with the Kop. Skrtel insists the feeling is most definitely mutual. "I think because of the skinhead and my accent I am not too hard to pick out on the street," the centre-back told LFC Magazine. "From the bits of conversation I understand between us then I have to say that they have been amazing to me. "I have signed more autographs since touching down in Merseyside than in the rest of my professional career. But, for the support I have had individually, and that we get as a team, signing some autographs is not a problem." Skrtel's popularity is in no small part down to his no-nonsense brand of defending, a style which saw him start 20 Liverpool games in less than five months. He added: "That's just the way I play. I am a defender and sometimes that means you have to put your body on the line to prevent an opposition player scoring a goal. "I like tackling. It is one of my main strengths. And yeah, I can hear the supporters cheering and getting excited when I go in for a 50/50 challenge. It's beautiful to me to hear that the Liverpool fans appreciate what I do. "It means a lot to me because these are early days in my Anfield career. To know that I have made an impact is pleasing because I am in a new country and playing a new style of football. "The English style suits me very well. I enjoy physical battles with forwards and I have had plenty of those in England so far. I am sure over the course of my stay here in Liverpool, which I hope will be a long one, I will have many more. "Every game in this country is tough; there is no such thing as an easy game in the Premier League." |

Reds start work on new stadium
by Ben Blackmore, 24 June 2008 Liverpool Football Club have begun work on their new stadium after being granted full planning permission by Liverpool City Council. The Reds have secured permission for an initial 60,000-seater stadium, which will be improved to 73,000 as construction progresses. The crucial news though is that Liverpool have been cleared to instruct Laing O’Rourke to begin work, putting the proverbial spade in the ground. "This is a significant milestone for the club and I am delighted that the design received full planning consent and that we are now on site,” co-owner George Gillett told the club’s official website. "We have been working very hard over the last six months to move the details of the design along but this is the first tangible evidence for fans that a New LFC Stadium will be built. "The stadium design is unique and will be recognised across the world as the Liverpool FC Stadium. It incorporates a Kop stand that will hold 18,000 fans and we hope that the stadium will be as noisy and atmospheric on a matchday as Anfield." Co-chairman Tom Hicks added: "We have watched the council transform Stanley Park over the last six months and the ongoing refurbishment of houses in the Anfield/ Breckfield area. “I am pleased that now the club has received full planning permission it can join the regeneration process with the commencement of enabling works." The stadium is on course to open for the beginning of the 2011-12 season. |

Leeds United have been given the chance to sign Krisztian Nemeth and Astrit Ajdarevic on loan from Liverpool.
Both players will join up with the club for pre-season training with an opportunity to work alongside United's first-team next month as Gary McAllister considers the possibility of adding the pair to his squad for the 2008-09 League One campaign. Leeds Looking At Liverpool Duo - Leeds United FC - LeedsUtdMAD Think it will be a good move myslef for Nemeth, playing for a massive club with a rich history, all be it in the lower leagues. It's the same reason why I think Anderson should go to Forrest. |

Load of lalalala.. Ajdarevic has already been told he can speak to other clubs.. He's been released, so that's a load of rubbish...
But the Nemeth part is quite interesting, but I would prefer to see him challenge Voronin, and with us allowed to used 7 on the bench, he'll probably be with the first team more often.. |

Skrtels a good player but agger is much beter IMO. finally we will have a new stadium, heres hoping its not shared after all, the bitters can stick it up their ar$e. hope we do sign Silva at least. What I don't understand is how can McAllister invite them to their training camp... They are under contract at Liverpool.. Must be tapping-up..
Quick we need to report them to FIFA... |

Liverpool to make move for Fulham keeper Antti Niemi
By James Nursey 25/06/2008 Liverpool want Fulham's veteran keeper Antti Niemi. Anfield boss Rafa Benitez is after an experienced stopper to provide back-up to No.1 Pepe Reina. And Finnish ace Niemi, 36, is keen as he is surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage and is big mates with compatriot Sami Hyypia. Birmingham's Maik Taylor,36, was Benitez's original target but he is due to pen a new two-year deal at St Andrews today (WED). And Niemi, who can leave Fulham for around £350,000, is set for talks with Liverpool next week when he returns from holiday but West Ham are also interested.
