Yeah, but Gerrard wants Barry, and Torres will no doubt want Villa......so Gerrard has been with Benitez longer, so Rafa will buy him, and Villa will be left out.............unless you guys get great deals on Crouch and others. I think the ideal move would be to buy both. Team up for Gerrard and barry, and Villa and Torres. Trust me, there is no fan outside of Liverpool FC who wants you to sign Villa more than I do

Now that you mention that whole combination thing, it'd be sooo good.

If Barry stays at Aston Villa, i doubt he will perform at his best knowing that he was almost a player at Liverpool and will most likely have a poor season. Same thing happened with Marco Bresciano at Palermo with Man City.

If barry stays we will probably keep hold of xabi, so its not really a big lose IMO

Like i have said before it would be great to sign villa BUT we need a decent winger on the left first plus after the euros teams like Real,Barca,Chelsea,Manure and milan will probably be offering silly money for him

Barry is a waste at anything above 15m and if they want 20m for him then we should be selling Alonso at 40m

Anfield friendly date for Atletico Madrid

Liverpool are hoping to host Atletico Madrid in a pre-season curtain raiser at Anfield.

The Reds have pencilled in Friday, August 8 – the weekend before the Premier League kick-off – for the clash with Fernando Torres’ old club.

And with Atletico having qualified for the Champions League for the first time the clash will give Liverpool an ideal preparation for their own Champions League qualifier just a few days later.

If Villa reject that then I reckon Rafa should end it... He is a good player, but £20m + and he's not worth it...

Barry is NOT worth 20 million or really anything over 15. 15 was too much anyway.

Use that 20 15-20 million that was going to go towards Barry on Villa, Silva, Joaquin, or any other winger.

Then just keep Alonso. Sell Crouch and a couple others.

With Villa or a top class winger, Degen and Dossena in the bag that would be a nice transfer window, not to mention having Alonso back.

edit: Also, if we pay more than 15 for Barry or we don't get him, we need to put the hurt on Villa next season ever time we play them. Don't call the dogs off and get as many goals as we can.
