$135 mil over 5 years sound a lalalalalaeap, if it was Euros it would be a more realistic €75 mil transfer and €12 mil annual salary

At the current rate, $135 million is about €96 million. Thats a fair chunk of change I would think.

Well with €60 of those going to annual salaries of €12 (I assume he'd earn the same as Zlatan/Messi) theres only €36 mil left for Manchester

edit: wait Messi/Zlatan makes €9 mill, then it would leave €51 mil for Manchester

The $135 mil though only referred to the transfer. Ronaldo would make about €12 m a year in salary.

German tabloid Bild has Ribery signing for us, provided 2 out of van der Vaart/Sneijder/Robben are provided, which is too much imo.
what happened with De la Red? When I was watching Revisita La Liga on Sky Sports last week they seemed to be really happy he was on the comeback trail, from what I;ve heard about him he seems a bloody brilliant player, can anyone educate me?

Uhh, well as I said reports are pretty positive, he played in a friendly and scored last week, and seems to be pretty fine, but because the diagnosis isn't 100% certain there's still that worry that he could collapse on the pitch again. de la Red is a beast of a central midfielder, great vision, good range with the shot, almost like a Xabi Alonso.

He had heart problems that caused him to collapse while playing and the risk of death was so great that he stopped playing

That was just a friendly, but since the condition isnt known to the full extent doctors don't want to risk putting him through all a footballer has to go through without knowing whats up.

Well for his long term health's sake I personally would consider giving him the advice to give it up is the doc's cant figure out what the score is. That look on his face when he collapsed is haunting.

So are Madrid still paying him wages or what? Whats happening with the contract?

Good question, I have no idea but if I had to guess... he's still being paid.

EDIT:

http://www.larazon.es/noticia/ronald...el-real-madrid

These guys claim that tomorrow the contract that Cristiano signed with Calderon last year will be published (printed I guess) and that Florentino has agreed to accept. 80m pounds, 96m euros. 9m for his agent, but the 9m for is agent is paid for by United.

The contract is for six years and 9.5m a year including 40% of his image for Real Madrid. (I don't get the image part, image rights?)

They confirm that the contract has been signed by all parts. Cristiano, Madrid and United.

I reckon it will be announced next week. If I was Pellegrini I would want all my signings in place and settled before pre-season begins, less distractions then and the team can hit the ground running come the start of the proper season.

That would be ideal, I forgot to mention one last issue with the contract, the site claims the deal wont be inked until the 30th of June, because Floritino wants to reduce the terms, which is mostly the transfer fee I guess, but if he can't he'll pay the 96 mil.

Whats strange is the silence coming from Man Utd about the whole thing, if these rumors ARE just rumors wouldnt you have expected Utd to release a statement to the press stating its all fabricated?

I'll give the story 24-48 hours, if some sort of denial isn't put up then I'd start to believe it a bit more.

If AS, MARCA, CadenaSER or any of the other guys I "trust" latch on then I'll believe it more too.

Liga BBVA | Real Madrid : Garay teme que Pellegrini no vaya a contar con él - AS.com

If Marcano is bought, Garay might be sold. I hope not.

Dudek might be re-signed to a 1 year contract, and Codina sold for cash.

Dudek has no hunger whatsoever to play. Hes so happy just hanging out collecting a check. Weird! Pellegrini not rate Garay? I wish I followed more La liga this season to properly give an input but I guess Pellegrini knows more than me. This Marcano character better be all he's cracked up to be.

No worries. If we aren't already, we'll be the most hated club in the world when the sumer is over....or before. We'll definitely surpass you guys...although imo I think we're the most hated club in the world already.
