Yeah, I can't deny the fact that he's better at playing at the LM/LW Position but, he probably won't get the chance to play there again (unless someone gets injured, hopefully not) he could prove himself as a sub though.

Between Robben,Ronaldo,potentially Ribery and even Benzema,they have an attacking wide midfield role covered. For me,with the attacking talent they have,there's no need for a wing back. A solid no frills LB is what's required.

Heinze with pace is what they need.

Which leaves......Evra,Abidal and Aurelio?

Drought on LB's and RB's at the moment it seems.

Madrid's defense should be their top priority now, and it won't help if they play him at LB. So, basically he's not needed if they sign Ribery. Get rid of Heinze and Metzelder, and you know what you need to buy.

Marcelo can defend, I've seen it in glimpses, there are a wide variety of things he needs to improve on: awareness, tackling, blah blah but I think he can do it.

If he wants to get called up for Brazil he'll have to get better at fullback anyway.
