Yea, true. However, I would have a hard time seeing that be a result, if they were to really sign Maicon.

Maybe Ramos will go to United!

(not likely)

Why would he do that? There's too many midfielders in Real. I can see Maicon playing LB, or Ramos playing CB with Albiol/Pepe.

I think Ramos' ability would be best suited in the midfield, personally.

Additionally, I'm not sure we can base a line-up off their current roster, simply because I believe more people (including within the midfield) are moving out of Madrid in the coming weeks/months.

Why? Ramos has NEVER played in midfield..how can you place him in midfield in a season where so much is expected/demanded?

He is actually a natural CB so that would be his place

Ramos has been heavily linked to Milan in the past, taking into consideration they need a RB who can play as a CB.

Doubt he will leave Madrid as he can play on the left and CB but giving up his favorite position to Maicon might be hard.

Even with that said, I'd place in the midfield over placing him within the backline. Regardless if he has played there previously, he in my eyes, plays more like one than a defender when at fullback.

But, that's why I'm not a manager and don't get paid the big bucks to make those decisions and instead, submit my opinions for free!

Lettin ramos go would be dumb. He should remain at rb or even cb. He's one of the best already and has a lot to go.

Maicon and Ramos are so much alike, there'd be no point in replacing Ramos with him imo. So I don't think there is any point in buying Maicon unless he plays LB, but I've never seen him in that position before. Plus, I don't think Ramos would stay put in CB, he'd just keep sprinting up and leaving a massive hole in the defense..

Letting Ramos go for Maicon is definitely a stupid mistake. Sure Maicon is better now but Ramos is also great in terms of dribbling and crossing. Also, Ramos is almost 6 years younger while Maicon at 28 is his peak.

And Maicon is never a better defender than Ramos.

Ramos just needs discipline. He can play cb like he used to

Ramos wouldn't need to be deployed at right wing, Ronaldo and Robben already have that spot up, but he could be used as a defensive midfielder, he has all the physical attributes, but that might be like trying to a fit a square object into a round peg because he does not have the tactical awareness, instinct and disciple to do that job, and we have Lass, Diarra, and Gago who can fill that hole.

If Maicon were bought before Albiol I could see this:

Maicon Ramos Pepe XXX

But now I have no idea how that would work.

I wonder who was crying when Portugal punted the Dutch out of an international tournament for the second time in a row that year aswell
